Chapter 3 - A Show of Support

Today me and Ichiro are going to the live that Konoe was going to perform at. I never really go to live performances like this and I don't know what I'm doing so I'll follow Ichiro's lead. Once we got to the event center I found that Ichiro had apparently payed for our admission ahead of time

"How much was it? I'll pay you back" I said

"No need, I'm just paying you back for making me good food for me pretty often." Ichiro responded with a grin

"If you say so."

We then headed to where the live was held. It was a gigantic room with a large stage. As soon as I walked in, I saw a huge crowd of people talking to each other while waiting for the live to start.

"Hey, use these." Ichiro said as he held out two glowsticks to me.

"Wait, what for?" I asked

"I forgot you haven't been to this kind of thing before. When it starts, wave those around. Y'know, show your support." Ichiro responded.

"Oh, I understand" I said as I took the glowsticks from his hands

Once the live started, a bunch of different idols performed. Ichiro was having an amazing time with a big smile on his face and I was starting to enjoy myself too. There were plenty of groups and at one point some solo performances started and Ichiro pointed out that the idols currently performing were from our school. I didn't realize that but I would have noticed once Miyashita had come up on stage.

Eventually, Konoe came up on stage and sang a song apparently called Nemureru Mori ni Ikitai na. I really enjoyed her performance, her singing felt really calming and the beginning kind of reminded me of a lullaby.

After the performance Ichiro smacked me on the back and said "So what did you think?"

I smiled and said "It was good, especially Konoe's performance."

"I'm glad you thought so. I love this stuff so much and just had to show you."

As our conversation continued I got a notification on my phone. It was from Konoe: So I just had a live and I could've sworn I saw you in the crowd. Were you actually there?

I texted back Yeah, a buddy of mine love this stuff and told me about it. Your performance was fantastic.

A few seconds later, Konoe responded by texting: Hey if you two haven't gotten too far yet, how about I join you and we go get lunch?

I immediately responded with yes and told Ichiro about it.

"Dude, I can't believe I get to meet Kanata Konoe in person. I'm so for it."

After I sent Konoe a text telling her where we were and waiting for her to get here, we saw Konoe coming our direction.

I waved to her to point ourselves out to her "Hey Konoe, it's nice to see you"

She smiled gently and said "It's nice to meet you too." She then looked over at Ichiro and said "And you must be l/n's friend that he mentioned."

Ichiro then said "Yep! I'm Ichiro Yoshitake, it's nice to meet you Konoe-senpai."

"It's nice to meet you too."Konoe responded

"Well let's go, it's my treat." I said

We then headed to one of my favorite cafes with a more traditional style to it. We talked as we ate and once we finished eating Ichiro began to get up and said "I gotta go, have fun you guys."

"Okay, see you later man." I said

After Ichiro left it was just me and Konoe and she said "He seems like a good guy."

"Yeah, he's a really reliable guy. I owe him a lot."

"I'm glad that you have such a close friend."

"Well Konoe, I figure that we should be going. If you want I can walk you home"

"That sounds great, and feel free to just call me Kanata."

I then walked her home and once we were at her front door I said "It's been nice seeing you today."

"It's been nice seeing you too, let's hang out again sometime."

After I left, I got a text on my phone from Ichiro: So how did it turn out? Did you get closer to her?

Wait, was Ichiro trying to be my wingman? I don't think me being into her was that obvious. Well, I'm thankful anyway.

A/n: I know I'm late but I have a lot of trouble falling asleep and I needed to sleep bad. I've been having a desire to write today so depending if this keeps up, I'll write another chapter right before I go to bed tonight.
