Six Years Later...
The early morning sun slips through the blinds and wakes me up from my sleep. I slowly open my eyes and see my wonderful wife, Kanata, sleeping leaned against me. With a smile on my face, I try to carefully leave the bed without waking her up. Today is our sixth anniversary and I want to make this day as special for her as she makes every moment of my life feel. I gradually left the bed and headed to the kitchen to start breakfast. I pulled out ingredients and started to prepare the batter for extremely fluffy pancakes that Kanata and our daughter, Shino, both love. She'll be turning five in a couple of months and she's a sweet, caring girl who's extremely smart for her age and always does whatever she can to help us.
I placed bacon in a skillet and began to cook it before I started putting some of the pancake batter into a pan. As I continued working, I heard a door open up behind me.
I turned my head to see who it was and saw that Shino had apparently woken up and heard what I was doing in the kitchen. "Good morning Shi. Slept well last night?"
Shino nodded her head and with a smile said "Yup!"
"That's good." I respond.
"Hey Dad, what are you making for breakfast?" Shino asked.
"I'm making pancakes and bacon." I answered.
Shino's smile grew even brighter as she excitedly said "Yay! Thanks Dad!"
"Your welcome. I love cooking for you and your mom." I said, my smile growing in response to my daughter's excitement.
"And that's one of the things I love about you." I turned to see that Kanata was leaving our room. "Morning Honey."
"Hey, breakfast will be done in just a minute." I respond as I finish up with the pancakes before bringing three plates of food to the table with silverware in my hands. I joined them at the table and we began to eat.

The day went on as normal for the most part until it became evening and I heard a knock at the door. I headed over to it and opened the door to see Haruka had arrived.
"Hey Haruka. Thanks for keeping an eye on Shino for a while tonight." I said.
"It's no problem, I love spending time with her. You and Nee-chan just enjoy your date." Haruka replied.
We walked into the house and when Shino saw that Haruka was here, she ran over to her and gave her a hug "Aunt Haruka! Are you here to play with me again?"
Haruka smiled and said "Yeah. Your Mom and Dad are gonna be out for a while tonight and so I'm gonna be here."
Kanata, who was leaving our bedroom after getting changed, gave Haruka a hug and said "Thank you Haruka."
We spoke with her for a bit before we left the house and got in the car and we began to drive to where we were gonna celebrate our anniversary, a high class restaurant called Red Velvet..
--------------------------------
After dinner we returned home to see Haruka on the couch, half asleep.
She yawned before saying "Welcome back."
"Thanks. Since it's late, how about you stay over tonight?" Kanata asked her.
"That sounds good. Thank you." Haruka said as she pulled a blanket out from a basket besides our couch.
The three of us talked for a bit and Haruka told us how Shino behaved before I yawned and said "I have work tomorrow so I'm gonna start getting ready for bed. I'll talk to you some more at breakfast."
I then went and changed into pajamas and layed down in the bed. Soon enough, Kanata came into the room and after changing into pajamas as well, joined me in the bed.
As we cuddled together, I said "I'm so glad I met you Kanata. I wouldn't be where I am today without you."
Kanata gave me a kiss and said "I love you too. I'd never want a life different than what we already have." We laid together, holding each other close when Kanata said "Shi has been asking for a little sister. How about we give her one?"
