Part 1

August 7th, 1991
        Today Eli Clark was allowed to leave the manor, he had been there for three years. His best friend Naib Subedar was ready to leave as well, Naib had waited for Eli before he left.
         Eli was very happy because he would be able to see his fiancé, Gertrude. Although the boy wouldn't be returning with money that of which he came to the manor for, he would be able to see his love again.  The two boys set out to Eli's house which took them a few days to get there.
         While Eli was exited, Naib was quite the opposite, he was happy for his friend but his feelings interrupted that thought. Naib Subedar was in love with his best friend named Eli Clark, and he had these feelings for a long time. He found everything about the boy perfect from the way he walked to the color of his lips.
         The feelings Naib was encountering was showing externally, and Eli noticed this. "Naib are you ok?" the taller boy asked. Naib snapped his head up and nodded, he wanted to avoid talking about it so he decided to lay down signifying that he was going to sleep. Eli caught on to gesture laying down as well, a few minutes later Eli said "goodnight Naib".  As they both lay in the cart that carried them the night took over.
         In the morning Naib woke up to an unknown warmth next to him, when he looked over a sleeping Eli was resting next to him. Naib would have loved to stare at the boy for hours on end, but he couldn't do that, he wanted to leave these feelings behind because he knew in a few days Eli's love would only be given to Gertrude.
        Naib decided to let the other boy rest and decided to take a look at the town they had stopped at. He recognized the town as the one a couple hours from Eli's house. He felt his stomach grumble as he looked around for a place to eat, deciding to pick up food for himself and Eli. He stopped at a small cafe it had a very warm atmosphere and was very nicely decorated.
        When he walked up to the counter the waiter whose named he noticed to be Martha asked "Welcome, what would you like?" Naib glazed through the menu and decided to get a bagel for Eli and a crepe for himself. Martha went to grab the food and when she came back said " I've never seen your face around here, are you new?" Naib responded with "No i'm just visiting a friend who lives a few hours away." Wanting to avoid small talk, Naib grabbed the food to get it back to Eli.
         After Naib returned to the cart he handed Eli his bagel and told the driver to continue to their destination. Eli wasn't very talkative, neither was Naib but he wanted to hear the other boys voice. "We're a couple hours from your home" Naib said, "Oh, that's good I didn't get a chance to see where we were." Eli replied with.
          While they were riding to Eli's house Naib had a bad feeling that he couldn't place his finger on so he decided to ask how Eli and Gertrude met. Eli explained and asked about Naib, who also explained what had been going on before he got the invitation to the manor. after they were done telling their stories they were only about 30 minutes from Eli's residence.
          When they arrived the bad feeling Naib had only seemed to grow by looking at the seemingly empty small house. When he looked over at Eli he was already opening the door, when he opened it no one was there and Eli called for Gertrude and recived no response. While they were both unsettled they were looking around the living room, then Naib called Eli over when he found a note. Eli came over and read the note that read:
"June 27th, 1991
         Eli, I hope your reading this, it's almost been three years since you left for the manor. I don't know where you are now or if you will ever read this, but i'm struggling more now then ever and if i don't die soon i won't live through the winter. We were struggling with both of us and now that you aren't here it's even harder, if your reading this i'm sorry i couldn't greet you when you came back but i hope you can move on and find someone who loves you just as much as I do.
                                                          
                                                                  love Gertrude."

Naib was worried for Eli he didn't know how he was going to react or what he would do. Eli stood still for a bit then said "She has to be alive this was only written two months ago she's stronger than this, she's probably just sleeping!" Naib knew that Gertrude had died but he didn't want to say anything or Eli would snap, so they headed to the bedroom where they found the lifeless, pale body of Gertrude.
