Before you read this book, there's a couple of things I need to mention:
1. Almost this entire story is based on a Terraria run done by me. It is done and there are a few optional things I chose not to do. I decided not to fight Queen Slime or the Empress of Light, and I didn't do a frost/pumpkin moon. While I defeated every tier of the Old One's Army, much other content between 1.3 and 1.4 that was optional I decided to skip
2. This run was a challenge I set myself. I started a new character but with a catch: the second they load into the world, it's in Hardmode, meaning much stronger enemies, the rapid spread of the Corruption/Hallow, and the random spawn of bosses. All of this from day 1. I die a lot, and I mean A LOT. While I use certain plot devices to make this make sense, a hardcore playthrough might be fun.
3. For quality-of-life stuff, I started the story/run with a few vanity items, the standard starter stuff, a pre-made hellevator, and whatever the Wall of Flesh happened to drop (It being the Pwnhammer and Laser Rifle) Should you want to mimic the challenge and try it yourself, these are the starter items.
4. This run is very long (with about 85 hours logged) and to prevent this story from being 928902893 chapters long, I typically try to compress it into 1 boss per chapter.
5. All of these characters are either a figment of my imagination or an NPC in Terraria.
6. Having played Terraria mobile, mid-run the world switched from 1.3.1 to 1.4.0.1 meaning the first half has outdated stuff, such as Leaf wings actually being good and the lack of NPC happiness.
And that's all! After about 6 paragraphs of preamble, I'mma let you read the story now.
Be safe - and watch out for Ice elementals!
