As I walked I let my mind wander to far off places. There was a fountain in the middle of campus. It was quite beautiful actually. At night if you walked past it was lit up with many different colors. I sat there for a minute and pulled out my laptop. I began typing. I loved to type. Mostly it was always just nonsense that got deleted when I exited it out. But sometimes I got some kind of brilliant idea and wrote a story... Which got deleted.
Like my dad always told me, writing wasn't going to get me anywhere. If I wanted to get anywhere in life I had to become like my mom. A designer. It was very unlikely that I would become like her, but if it made him happy, so be it.
I began writing. A love story of two young people. Delete. A horror story. Delete. Eventually I put my laptop away and pulled out a sketch pad. I began working on an assignment I had in my fashion 101 class. We were working on drawing models. The very basics you need to make anything. "Your much better at writing." I jumped and let out a small squeak when I heard a voice very close from behind me. I turned to see the man with the silky smooth voice.
His face matched. He had very defined bone structure, dark caramel hair, and the brightest blue eyes I'd ever seen. I knew then that he would be the main character in my next story. I realized then that I'd been staring at him for well over a minute or so.
He let out a small chuckle. "I didn't mean to frighten you ma'am. My name is Ian. Ian Hollingsworth. And you are?"
"Scared half to death." I stopped with my mouth open. How stupid. I'd never been good at talking to handsome boys, but really? "I mean... I'm Alex Burkoff." I noticed he had his hand extended and so I shook it. I quickly put away the sketch pad.
"It's quite a pleasure to make your acquaintance." He smiled. Oh my, that smile. It seemed like it could've brightened up the whole earth. I shook my head slightly and put my things away and stood up.
"I really have to be going, homework." And I walked away. Wow. I didn't know I could be that bad at first impressions. I guess that was just one more boy crossed off the non existing list of potential boyfriends. I walked aimlessly towards my dorm...
