It was past midnight. The dark night cast its frosty breeze among the green lands. Salem was sitting by the red fire, next to Nightmare under a cedar tree.
Nightmare starched out a bit then sat up straight. "Good morning," Said Nightmare with a tired voice. Salem replied with a smile looking at her. "Good morning."
The fire lighted up one part of her face, the other part was left dark.
"Where did you go? I saw you open a portal to a realm I don't know what it was." Asked nightmare staring at the fire. He took a deep breath then sighed. "I had to pay an old friend a visit. That's all." With a tired voice.
The silence was all around the green lands. The wood was cracking in the red flames. "Can I ask you a question?" Asked Nightmare with a hesitant cold voice. He looked at her with his blood-red eyes. "Go ahead." She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, hugged her feet close to her chest then rested her head on her knees.
"What am I for you? People always leave me behind and treat me as I don't exist." Her voice was sounded far away. He smiled at her with a smile that hid so many emotions. "You are my weak point. In other words, you are everything."
Her cheeks turned into flame red. "Say. Did you actually kill your brother?" He raised his head to look at the sky full of stars. "I had to kill them all." He took a deep breath then continued. "I also killed my uncles and some real close friends to me after a long life together." Said with a sorrowful tone.
"She looked at him with eyes filled with amazement. "There is a time where I have to kill Radon, Barmouth, Rosa, and Amelia."
Nightmare did not want to make their night a painful one. So she started to talk about cats and her history with them. He interrupted her and said with a cheerful voice "No need to change the subject, I will make sure they stay alive as well as you." With a huge smile. on his face.
"Anyways feel free to ask me whatever you want any time." Continued Salem. She came closer to him and rested her head on his shoulder.
The flames began to fly to their left, yet, no breeze nor wind came their way. Salem held his scythe and on his feet, followed by Nightmare. Suddenly the ground under them began to shake, then a humongous scorpion appeared.
They jumped in the air as the scorpion cut the tree with his sharp claws and stabbed it with his stinger. Out of the blue, A huge spider came from above them. Salem waved his scythe and cut it in two halves, burning it to ashes.
As Nightmare waved her scythe downwards making a black boomerang-like cutting the gigantic scorpion. As they landed on the surface, a snake came from under them and threw its melting venom on them.
Salem used his black flames to cover himself and Nightmare from its venom. The snake was pitch black with red stripes. Its eyes were two black holes. "These creatures are an empty shell." Said Salem, after cutting the head of the snake.
"You mean it's a demon work?" Asked Nightmare Slashing the other scorpion that popped up under her feet. "Indeed, they don't have eyes and I could not sense their presence, meaning that they have no heart, no soul." Explained Salem as a huge red-colored worm with claws and sharped iron snips.
Giant creatures flew in the clear sky as they reflected their shadows reflected on the surface. "What the hell is that Salem? Asked Nightmare with so much confusion in her voice. "That's my line young lady. The demonic creatures that hold S-Rank Demons." Replied Salem with a smile on his face. It was his thing to destroy Demons, therefore, he was happy to see them in the clear sky.
