This problem has haunted me for years, even with my boyfriend. It took me forever to admit my feelings. Everyone at our church wanted us to date within 3 weeks of his arrival, but it took us two years because we wanted to take things slow, he was still in nursing school at the time, and he had just gotten out of a relationship before relocating for school. Now he's a nurse, that relationship is dead and his ex is blocked, and we're happy together in our two-month relationship. I finally got over that fear and gained a new best friend in the process.
