Vampires

Part.20

*still five months before present*

We saw a broken window and a note on the table, I took it and read aloud

"I know that Melina is out of the game right now, but her father has in his possession a book, a very powerful book that only Melina can read, for the rest of people literally the book has no words since only a black dot can see the words written on it, I know you don't trust me for everything I have done but my parents told me to do it and I did because I was scared of what they could do to me, come as soon as possible please, I will help you find it I promise. Mara"

when I finished reading we all kept quiet  "what are we going to do?" Pau asked "I don't know, we'll have to go and get the book I guess" Martinus said "but are you crazy?" Marcus said "no Marcus, Martinus is right we have to go for the book, it has to be important if only Melina can read it" I said

*in the present*
*Melina pov*

"Well, I'm going to sum up very quickly the following months, if not, I could be telling the story for days" Amos said "basically Mara helped us to go through different traps that her parents and your father had set up and we got the book" he said as he took out a big book from a backpack "read it, we want to know what it says, we have already tried it but as Mara said for us it has no words" Pau said, I took the book and the moment I opened it a glow appeared followed by an explosion that he shot us all up in the air.

When I woke up a light blinded me but little by little I got used to it, when I could see I realized that I was in  hospital "OMG Melina you are awake" a voice said, when I turned my head I saw a doctor next to my bed "what happened?" I asked a little confused although more or less I remembered something, the light that came out of the book and the explosion, but I was still a little confused "someone attacked you and left you in a coma, they found you lying in the middle of the street few meters away from the school, you have been in a coma for almost three years Melina" the doctor said, I was surprised I didn't remember having been close to the school in a really long time but well maybe the explosion led me to involuntarily teleport "and what about Martinus, Marcus, Amos and Pau, are they alright?" I asked worried "who?" asked the doctor "my friends, they were with me since I left home" I said "no, when you left the  school everyone said that they saw you leave alone" the doctor said "no, I've been with them for years" I said "oh , okay, now I understand" the doctor said "well I don't" I said between confused and angry "coma is like being asleep maybe you dreamed everything" the doctor said and I was silent.

*a week later*

I'm back home with my father, he doesn't seem like the psychopath who tried to kill us, he seemed like a normal person "well, Welcome home again honey" she said as we got out of the car "I've missed you so much, you don't know how worried I've been" he said hugging me, then I went up to my room and I was lying on my bed thinking, I got up from my bed and looked at myself in the mirror, my teeth were normal, my eyes were brown and I couldn't put them red like in my vampire form, either I saw the bite on my neck or the black dot on my wrist, I lay back on my bed looking at the ceiling and tears began to run down my face, Martinus, Marcus, Amos and Pau went through my head as I remembered everything that had happened, everything i lived during all those three years that I was with them, especially I remembered Marcus, the boy who had stolen my heart, what if all had been a dream? What if my head had invented all those adventures? I looked towards a side and saw a strange machine, it was the same as the one that took away our powers, there was one in each corner of my room which made me think that perhaps my head had not imagined all my adventures and also I didn't I had so much imagination to invent all of
that, it was clear, everything had been real, my theory about all this is that Mara lied, she helped them to get the book because they knew that if I opened it, i would explote, and while we were unconscious because of the explosion they found me and took me to his house to return me to my human form so I couldn't be a vampire again, then he bribed the doctor to tell me all that.

The truth is that my theory might make sense, it might not, I didn't know, it was just a theory and I had no more evidence than those machines on the floor of my room and I didn't know if Martinus, Marcus, Amos and Pau were real,I wasn't even sure if vampires existed, but what was clear is that I was going to try to live like a normal girl and try to forget everything that had happened in the last three years and maybe when i go back to school i see the twins and i can ask them if everything was real but right now i just wanted to lie on my my bed and sleep
