"I remind you that there are two lives in danger" Pau said bored of so much talk "what do you mean with there are two lives in danger? I thought it was only me who could die" I asked confused "if you die, I die too" Marcus said wipping away to tear "what! why?" I said "because you are couple so there's a very strong conection between you, he transformed you into a vampire and it should have been him who returned you to your human form and how it was someone else who took your vampire form away and having that link between you also condened him too" Amos explained "fuck this can't be happening" i said "everything will be fine" Pau said rubbing my back "I hope so" I said looking down.

"this is the plan" Amos said so that we all pay attention "this is a holographic map of the house of Mara's parents, as you can see, the V-transfor is in the basement, but there are several traps: some of those hateful machines that take away our powers, another that weakens us and a movement sensor that activates an alarm at the slightest movement, and although we manage to overcome all those traps, the V-transfor is inside a safe box which alerts the police if the code is inserted incorrectly" Amos explained "and how are we going to go in there and take out the V-transfor?" i asked "it won't be easy but Amos and I have made a plan for that too" Martinus said "explain it then, time is running" Pau said "Well, Mara's father has a card that deactivates all the traps so that he can enter the basement and his mother keeps the password of he safe box in her room, under the mattress "Martinus explained "and how did you find that out?" Pau asked "it is a long story" Marcus replied "can I continue?" Martinus asked and we nodded "thank you, the idea is that you,Melina, continue pretending that you believe what they have told you that had happened these last three years, get Mara to invite you to her house, we know that there are two bathrooms upstairs and none downstairs, so you're going to be with her for a while, pretend she's still your best friend and all that, after a while ask where is the bathroom with the excuse that it's been so long that you don't remember and when you go upstairs instead of going to the bathroom you go into her parents' room and take the password" Martinus said "okay, how are you going to get the card?" I asked "don't worry, we will do that" Pau said "one thing, I don't know how long it will be until Mara invites me to her house and you said she could die at any moment" I said "Take this" Amos said giving me some pills "take one every morning, this will make you live two months without any danger, after two months the uncertainty of not knowing when you will die will return unless we have obtained the V-transfor" he explained.

"You should go home Melina, before your father suspects something" Marcus said and I nodded, I walked to my house and get in "where have you been? it's almost night" my father said when he saw me "I was with a girl that just moved here" I lied "okay" he said and smiled at me, a few hours later I go to sleep thinking about everything that happened today and how I am going to get Mara to invite me to his house

A week had already passed, a whole week and I had not achieved anything, the only thing I could do was pretend that everything was normal, that I had believed everything they told me "Hello Melina" I heard Pau behind me "Hi Pau" I said turning around and we started walking together to school "I had already forgotten what it was like to go to school" Pau said "me too, it's difficult to come back after three years, pretend that you believed what you have been told and know that I could die" I said sighing "yes, now it's very different" she said "I hope everything ends well" I said sad "we are not going to let you and Marcus die" Pau said putting her hand on my shoulder.

"Hello Melina and ... I think I don't know you" Mara said when we got to school "Oh Mara this is Pau" I said "nice to meet you Pau" Mara said smiling "same" Pau said faking a smile

*Pau pov*

In the first lesson I'm not with Melina but with Mara, I got to the classroom and I sit in the first free chair at the back of the class "Can I sit there?" Mara asked pointing to the chair next to me "yes of course" I said and she sat down.

*at the end of the lesson*

I was about to leave the classroom when Mara grabbed my arm pulling me inside again, she and I were alone in the room since everybody had already left "listen to me girl" she said pushing me against the wall and holding me by my shirt so I couldn't move...
