Scientists figure out if an explanation is true of not by results, by making hypothesis and conducting various experiments.

I believe it is legitimate of biologists to make claims of "hidden" processes and objects when they have significant proof of them from either the outcomes of the processes or the reasonable reliable results of the effects of them.

These can really only be known through experimenting and careful observation. Technology is incredible now in making it much easier to see things that are otherwise invisible so that is a big help verses biologists from long ago.

Great things were still discovered without such advanced of course, and I think that if I were a biologist working in the eighteen-hundreds I would have been weary maybe but things come to light with time and persistence.

With all of that being said, having other scientists observe results and do variations of it themselves is a sure way to be confident in a new claim.. To use a current example that is quite interesting, the start of the corona virus.

It's said to come from animals in wet markets being kept in unclean cages next to food that was being cut/sold. It's a mutation. To my knowledge a majority of people believe this, while there are other theories that it was made in a lab with animals..

The virus changes and adapts and the world has been studying it to be able to come up with vaccines. It's daunting that things keep changing with this as far as symptoms and the effects it has on the human body; people of different ages. I wonder how long it will take for us to learn enough about this to ultimately overcome it.
