A smile could last for a second but the memory of it could last for a life time.

For the love of God, must doctors use needles! Those things hurt. Currently looking at my sister have her blood taken for some tests. If it wasn't for the fact that the school had asked for our medical records I would be in bed enjoying episodes of the Originals.

I have a love-hate relationship with that family. The Michaelson's.

Now I not only had to endure the pain of needles but also the presence of my torturer. I didn't want to come here with my mom, I wanted Chris to take me. At least he would find something entertaining to say.

"Stella please stop that. Your making me more nervous."

"How, your blood has already been taken?"

"Its your turn love." She winked at me.

"Stella no need to worry. If you don't disturb me  this time I'll give you the chocolate in my bag," Dr Richards says. I have had quite the history with needles that doctors have to bribe me.

Nice.

"No fair, I also want some." Of course she would complain.

"I'll give you some."

Deep breathes, very deep ones, one, two, three......

"We are done here," Dr Richards says triumphantly. "Keep this cotton wool over the injected area dear."

I do as she says because I hate the sight of blood.

"A deal is a deal," she says before heading to her desk and taking out a huge chocolate bar. I loved chocolate. I didn't think she was serious!

"Here."

"Thanks."

"The lab results with take a while girls, make yourselves comfortable."

"Are you excited for school, I know I am. You know Karan is also in that school, like two grades ahead of us but no probs. I just thank mom for the transfer. I will be able to hang out with Nick......"

I totally zoomed out when she was talking. She was always the one talking. She talked enough for the both of us!

We were transferring schools because of bullies. It kinda sucked that we got picked on because we looked alike. Sadly our bullies were girls, people you expected to be uplifting each other.

We were part of the swimming team. I think the bulling was worse because we so happened to be the best in the team. Coach always made us do more than the others saying me had to get used to the harsh waters. She made us do more exercises than the others. Saying something about building our stamina for competitions.

One day when coach wasn't there, Steph was pushed into the pool. That wasn't even the problem, they tied her to a lifting weight. I don't know how that happened but I knew I had to save my sister. I think it was a plan because when I tried to dive I was knocked out cold. I felt something hit me. The last thing I felt was my body been harshly thrown into the pool.

It was two weeks later that I woke up in a hospital bed with my dad by my side. He looked to exhausted and tired. He looked like he had lost the light in his life. The moment I opened my eyes I was literally embraced by a bear!

He didn't let go for almost a whole hour. He said that mom was with Steph who had succumbed to more injuries. He called mom saying I woke up and boy I have never seen my mom so happy. She practically jumped on me and started crying.
