His mother told all that had happened. How she asked for the boons and ended up killing him. "Now the throne is waiting for you", Kaikai said. Shatrughan just stood there unable to comprehend and assimilate it all. This sent chills down Bharat's spine.

For a moment he almost forgot to react. How he wished all this were just a dream and he would wake up and get over it. Definitely it was some kind of cruel joke. Surely his mot- no Ram's mother would not do this.  He was short of fainting.

Then she approached. The conspirator. The demon. The monster. Shatrugan wasted no time. He ran and took out his knife. This day would be the end of her. How he hated Manthara. He just about squeezed the life out of that now shrieking demoness.

Bharat ran. Clutching his brother hand, he begged "We ought to go get biayya soon. Don't drench your hand with a woman's blood. I know what you are thinking. But honestly it's her to be blamed. 'Her'. Queen kaikai. I can't bear to glance at her face. Calling her mother would be a sin."

He grasped the prince's hand and ran. He stopped at their room. The room his biayya would call his favourite. Where he had memories of his now gone father. He had nothing to say. They both just sat there, hugging each other and crying.

He missed Lakshman who would going around the room tearing Bharat and baiyya scolding him not to. He missed the love he got from his father which they never reciprocated to.

Then he realised. It was him. It's his fault all this happened. Had he not been there in the whole puzzle, everything would be perfect. Rama would be king and everyone would be happy.
