After crossing river Sarayu, the prince had no idea where to go. Upon glancing a hut, they reached the Ashram of Sage Bharadwaj.
Upon reviving a warm welcome, the sage brought upon a throne-like chair and said
"King Bharat please be seated."Bharat smiled sadly. This was not his place. He had never dreamed of sitting on the throne. He sat down on the floor next to the throne and fanned it gently as if his baiyya were there.
The wise sage was impressed by his love and blessed him so as to be the paragon of brotherhood."The journey ahead is really long. You could rest here."
Upon seeing the tired faces of the people, the two brothers agreed.
With the help of māya the Riśi Bharadwaj threw a grand feast. Bharat refused, for he had made a promise to fast till he sea his brother. By dusk the arrangements were made for their stay.
"Your brother Ram had met me. When he asked for directions, I suggested that they build a cottage in Chitrakut, a little far from here. You might surely find him there."By dawn, after seeking the sage's blessings, they continued their journey and reached the hilly mountains. Any moment now, he would meet his dear brother.
