You stepped of the Hogwarts express, greeted by your parents. They hugged you and bombarded you with questions about lessons."And Severus-, is he as bad as they say?" Your father asked.
"Yes." You giggled. You apparated to your house. You went upstairs to start unpacking your bag. As much as you missed your parents, you wanted to return to Hogwarts already. After unpacking, you flipped onto your bed and grabbed some parchment, you dipped your quill in ink and began writing.
Draco,
I need to know how you feel about me, please write back.Y/n.
You stood up and gave the letter to your owl, instructing it to fly to the Manor. You sat back down and began reading a book.
~
"We'll meet you in an hour at the 3 broomsticks okay? Take some money and buy yourself the books you need alright?" Your mother handed you some galleons.
"Okay. See you." You waved to your parents as you walked off. You entered the bookstore and began picking out your new books. In the corner of your eye, you saw a familiar blond figure, dressed in black.
"Draco?" You walked over to him. He turned around to look at you before going back to picking up some books.
"How are you?" You stepped closer, looking at him. He had gotten skinnier , his suit hanging loosely on him.
"Alright. " He mumbled, not looking at you.
"Why didn't you write back?" You asked.
"I was busy." He said, looking at his shoes.
"Oh." You replied. You felt as though this wasn't the whole truth. You thought your kiss meant something to him, but that was long ago. Feelings change.
"Um, I-...I'm going to go pay, see you at school." You said, turning around and hurrying over to the cashier. You caught a glance at him as you left the shop, and he was staring right through you, you felt slightly intimidated.
~
You sat in the Great Hall, watching as everyone walked in, greeting their friends with warm hugs and finding a place at their tables.
"Y/n!" Pansy strides over to you, giving you a brief hug.
"Hey, Pansy. How are you?" You smiled.
"Good. How were your holidays?" She asks, looking at her hands.
"Alright, considering you didn't write." You laughed.
"Sorry. I was really busy." She placed a hand on your shoulder.
"It's okay. Have you seen Hermione?"
"No. Sorry." She said, sitting down and tucking into her food.
You look up from your plate to the entrance and you see Blaise and Draco stride into the Great Hall. As he gets closer, you prepare to stand up but he simply walks past you, not even a glance in your direction. You pushed your plate away.
"I'm going to go find Hermione. Catch you later?"
"Yeah." Says Pansy.
You stand up and walk over to the Gryffindor table. You get a few weary looks from some Gryffindors, but no one seems to care anymore.
"Harry!" You sit down opposite him and Ron.
"Hey y/n. How are you?" He says.
"I'm good, have you seen Hermione?" You ask, searching the Gryffindor table.
"In the dorms." Ron mumbled, mouth full of food.
"Oh. I can't go in there."
"Yeah. We've got Defence Against the Dark Arts later tho, you'll see her then." Ron adds, swallowing his food.
"Yeah. See yous around." You left the Great Hal, heading down to the dungeons.
~
Y/n,
Please meet me in the library as soon as you get this letter. We need to talk.I'm so sorry.
Pansy
You put the parchment on your bedside table. What did she need to talk about? You thought. Not thinking much of it, you left your dorm and headed to the library. As you stepped into the library, Pansy grabbed your arm and dragged you to the back.
"Pansy? What's going on?" You asked, confused. She looked around for a moment, checking if anyone was near. She fiddled with her robes, taking deep breaths.
"Pansy? Pansy! Calm down. What's up?" You placed your arms on her shoulders.
"You're going to hate me."
"Don't be silly Pansy. Just tell me what's going on." You sighed, crossing your arms. She looked at the floor as she spoke,
"D-during the break, I-, well, I was at the Malfoy Manor, on uh, family business."
"Um, okay?" You raised a brow.
"I-, I don't-, I don't know how it-, how it happened," She took a deep breath, "I kissed him y/n, I'm sorry."
"Who?" You squeaked, not believe her words.
"Dr-, Draco." She whispered.
"What?" You breathed.
"I-, I'm sorry." She looked up at you finally.
"I-, excuse me." You pushed past Pansy, the library suddenly becoming too hot, too small, she wanted to get out.
~
You sat against the cold floor of an empty corridor. Why were you so upset? You thought you didn't have feelings for Malfoy, and you were certain he didn't feel the same way.
"Y/n?" You looked up at Harry, walking towards you. He sat down next to you.
"The floor is dirty." You stated.
"I don't mind. What's wrong?" Harry asked, moving closer to you.
"Nothing. I'm just-,"
"Clearly something is wrong, y/n, so tell me. Whatever it is." He sighed.
"I-, I can't, it's-, it's really bad." You turned your head away. Suddenly, Harry cupped your cheeks, turning your head to look at him.
"It doesn't matter. I won't judge. Tell me." He smiled reassuringly. A single year rolled down your cheek, and he used his soft thumb to wipe it away.
"Pansy. She-, she kissed Draco." You said quietly.
"Malfoy? But why-,"
"Because I like him! Okay? I'm scared to admit it and, and now I have... And I can't believe Pansy would-, would do that, but I haven't explicitly told her I like him, but still, I kissed him, and then she did, and he did too! But he doesn't like me... so I don't know why I'm upset and I-," You were silenced by the soft touch of Harry's lips.
They were soft, comforting. So, so, different to Draco's. His warm touch wrapped you like a blanket. He pulled away, breathless.
"I'm sorry. It's just, I don't want to see you like this. Over Malfoy. He doesn't-, he doesn't deserve you." Harry said quietly, his face still inches away from yours.
