Washington D.C. The capital of the United States of America, a city of constant moving parts where American bureaucracy thrives and where the most powerful person in the world sleeps. The president of the United States himself. While the city moves and government employees play their role in keeping the American government running, The president currently finds himself in the middle of being interrupted by his secret service detail while tending to his wife, his secret service detail whispers into the ear of the president that it's a matter of national security as the president is escorted to the situation room where he finds the Secretary of defense, the Secretary of State, the chief of naval operations for the United States navy and the commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command. The president looks all of the four Individuals in the eyes with a stern look plastered onto his face; clearly annoyed that he must deal with the situation at hand. "Well, looks like its the four horsemen of the apocalypse huh..?"
POV - NO ONE
Everyone in the room quickly stands up at the arrival of POTUS. With everyone in the room quietly muttering 'Mr. president' as he approaches the situation room table. "Please Please, everyone sit." The president mumbles as he takes a seat at the table, looking among the individuals in the room that seem to carry a worried aura. "Well gentleman, what am I looking at?" The president mutters as he looks at the situation room T.V. As his eyes lay upon every detail on the screen. "Well Mr. president, approximately 23 minutes ago two F/A-18 super hornets from the USS Ronald Reagan and her strike group in the South China Sea came under intercept from two Chinese J-20's. The F/A-18's made no hostile movements to the Chinese fighters although we think one of the Super hornet pilots made a sudden movement which may of startled the Chinese pilots and-" the president would let out an audible sigh as he looks at the defense secretary in the eyes saying "Dammit just tell me, did they engage?" The secretary of defense nods quickly in response to the president's question. "Yes sir. One of the Chinese fighters engaged one of the Hornets, destroying it. The other F/A-18 made a split second reaction getting behind the two Chinese aircraft with the pilot taking out one of them." The president grew an expression of stress and grief, He relaxed into the chair as he began to Comprehend the situation at hand. The United States and China are now entangled in a shooting war. One that could boil over quickly. "Summon the Chinese ambassador to the oval office immediately, we can't let this get any bigger" the Secretary of defense would quickly nod at the presidents words. The room after that though quickly was engulfed by an uncomfortable and very loud silence for at least 10-15 seconds which felt like entire hours as every second passed by. Although that silence was broken after the Secretary of defense voiced an idea "Mr. president I would recommend sending the USS Gerald R. Ford to the region, accompanied by a strike group of at least 4-5 Arleigh Burke-class destroyers. With the USS Ronald Reagan also in the region it'll certainly be a show of force to China that the United States is not going to back down after this incident, we have to show that America is in fighting condition, we cannot let our guard down Mr. president.." the room was once more swallowed by loud and uneasy silence. But the president would break that silence with only two words. "Do it" the Secretary of defense nods. "Yes sir Mr. president" these next few days will now be the most important in the presidents administration.

"Fire"
Once that single word was spoken on the radio frequency, all Marines in the area instantly moved their pointer fingers and pressed down onto the trigger of their respective firearm. A combination of 5.56 and 7.62 rains down the open field with short bursts of .50 cal hitting larger targets across the field of view. While the marines lay down accurate fire upon the advancing forces, M224 mortars open fire launching 60mm shells onto the battlefield, engulfing the once green and dazzling fields of grass into a smoking, black, burning pit of hell. The previously advancing force of hostiles were stopped dead in their tracks, as the mass confusion could only briefly enter the minds of the soldiers on the field as they soon were torn to shreds by the powerful firepower which the American forces possessed on the hill top. Along with this, AN/TWQ-1 Avengers set sight on the enemy Wyverns which are approaching the entrenched Americans at a rapid speed, once the positions of the Wyverns are locked however, the AN/TWQ-1 Avengers let their payload entirely loose, bringing down almost every single Wyvern in the skies. Once it was noticed that the enemy forces were in full panic mode and disorganization was in full swing, the American forces took the opportunity to attempt to surround the enemy forces and forcefully issue a surrender. 10 M2A3 Bradley's would leave the perimeter of the American F.O.B and would quickly advance towards the confused and shell shocked foes while the Bradley's 25mm gun shined menacingly in the moon light. Once the Bradley's were around 20 meters out they quickly moved around the men, effectively surrounding them. Soon enough, several marines disembarked from within the Bradley's, rushing out quickly. "EVERYONE DROP YOUR FUCKING WEAPONS, NOW!" A single marine shouted, which was soon followed by several other demands by the dozens of other marines which held their M27's high and steady. While the soldiers didn't understand what the Marines were saying, they knew that tone better then anyone else, and they quickly complied laying down their swords in fear of losing their lives. "Huh.. didn't expect that out of all outcomes..." All Roman looking soldiers would be zip tied and restrained; once more marines would arrive on the scene, just to ensure nothing happens while restraints are put onto the attacking soldiers. Back at the F.O.B itself, an American Army Specialist sits on top a JLTV while clenching tightly onto its .50 Cal
POV - Jackson Pisco
My breathing slowly begins to return back to normal levels, as the adrenaline which was previously running through my veins begins to fade away, as my fingers slowly pull away from the handles of the .50 cal which just took the life of several men not even 5 minutes ago. Even with my rather long time in the Army, I never thought I would take that many life's on the battlefield. Guess my exceptions were just that low huh? I mean I can't really blame myself, I don't think anyone would expect to be sent into a foreign world then proceed to lay led on men who look like they're from the Roman era. God that sounds weird even just thinking about it. I shake off the thoughts though, stepping down from the .50 cal as well as leaving the inside of the JLTV stepping down onto the hard and rough gravel, but before I could get anywhere a familiar voice reaches my ears
"Hey Jack!"
My head quickly turns to the right, my eyes laying upon a close friend of mine. Chris Stenfeild. me and him met all the way back in infantry training, however long ago that was, I think maybe two years? But that's beside the point. He's been really helpful as of recent, he's helped me get through some difficult times, and in all honesty? It's nice to see his face again after the events of this long and dull night.
"Ah! Holy fuck! Where have you been all night jackass?" My legs quickly start moving towards his general direction, my arms extending outwards for a hug, which he accepts "I was hanging out with the nerds from the air national guard, they're just kids but man they are beyond smart" I softly smile, pulling away from the rather quick hug "oh shit!" Chris yells out of nowhere, I look at him confused before he speaks again "Your unit has JLTV's already?!" My confused expression soon fades away, being replaced by a smile, which turns into loud laughter. "Yeah! DOD sent them out a few weeks ago, I think we're the first of only a few units to get them in active service!" Chris sighs, looking at the clean and new looking Joint Light Tactical Vehicle "You lucky bastards, it's like 10 times bigger in real life! Looks like a fatter MATV" my laughter returns after that comment, I mean, he's not really wrong. "I guess it does huh? Still more comfortable by a LONG shot. Trust me, I sat in MATV's in Syria for hours and the JLTV is way more comfortable. It's also a god compared to the humvee, god that thing is horrible to sit in." Chris also bursts into laughter "Damn right, I'm glad these things will mostly replace the humvee in actual combat operations. God has heard our prayers" as me and Chris both erupt into small laughter, a silent sigh escapes my lips as I advert my gaze to Chris "well hey, I'm tired and need sleep. So I'll catch you later alright?" Chris nods "yeah yeah, go get your beauty sleep." I don't say anything back, only responding to his words with a chuckle and a nod. This night has certainly been something, and definitely not in any good way.

POV - NO ONEAs the marines back at falmart slowly begin to wind down after the attempted attack on the F.O.B. The President awaits for the arrival of the Chinese in the Oval Office, preparing for a 'friendly' discussion about the international incident which resulted in the deaths of both American and Chinese pilots. And on cue, the door to the Oval Office opens with the Chinese ambassador to the United States rushing into the Oval Office with a stern expression covering his face "Ah! Mr. Ambassador! Welcome. I assume You know why you were summoned?" The Chinese ambassador would let out a deep sigh, only responding to the president with a slight nod of confirmation. "Now then, how about we skip the pleasantries and get serious. Shall we Mr. Tiankai?"
