I had just finished making dinner for myself when my doorbell rung I furrowed my eyebrows and walked out of the kitchen and over to the front door. I looked out the window seeing Raheem I smiled and unlocked the door and we hugged I stepped aside and let him in. I closed and locked the door.
"It smells good in here what you cooking," we walked into the kitchen.
"Something simple Chicken Bacon Ranch pasta."
"That's simple."
"To me yeah."
"Is there enough for me?"
"Yeah."
I went in my cabinet and got two plates down and Raheem took them out of my hands.
"What are you doing?"
"About to fix our plates you get the drinks."
"Okay."
Raheem got started on fixing the plates and I fixed us both a glass of Sweet Tea. We both walked into my living room and sat down I sat the glasses on the table Raheem said a prayer and he started eating while I watched.
"Why are you watching me eat?"
"Is it good?"
"Very."
I nodded and started eating.
"You can cook."
"This isn't nothing."
"Oh so you can cook cook?"
I laughed.
"Yes I can."
"Why haven't you been wifed up yet?"
"It's a long story."
"That I'm hoping you'll share with me one day."
"When I'm ready I will."
"Whenever you're ready I'm here."
We finished eating and Raheem carried the plates into the kitchen and grabbed the glasses and followed him. Raheem washed the dishes and I watched him.
"Why are you single?"
"Haven't met the right woma-," I cut Raheem off.
"I'm sure you'll find her."
"But I think I already have."
Raheem walked out of the kitchen and I followed right behind her.
"What you mean Rah?"
"Exactly what I said."
"So there's another-," Raheem cut me off.
"The woman who I'm talking about is you Brae the last two weeks we've spent together have been amazing and I can't wait to show you more of the great man that I am if you're willing to let me."
