I had just finished up with a client when I saw Nadirah walk in I motioned for her to follow me into my office and she did. We walked into my office Nadirah closed the door and I walked around to my desk and sat down.
"Mama you remember Roman?"
"Yes I do."
"Well there's something that I have been keeping from you and daddy."
"What's that?"
"He's married and his wife is pregnant."
I looked at Nadirah before I could respond she spoke.
"I didn't know that he was married yet alone his wife was pregnant until we ran into the mall with each other and she told me everything. He kept everything up for 8 months lying to the both of us and today he popped up at my house unannounced."
"Do you feel safe there?"
"Honestly no I don't."
"Okay let your daddy know so he can get all of things moved out and placed them in the storage until you find a new home."
"Yes ma'am."
"Do you still want to want to work at the hospital or no?"
"No."
"Okay you can always apply here and work next to your mama."
"I know I already put in an application and Veronica already called me and told me that I had an interview with you today that's why I'm here."
"Well you really don't need an interview because I know you already as well as your work ethic so you can start tomorrow morning at 8:30."
"Yes ma'am."
There was a knock at the door and Odell walked in.
"Hey beautiful."
"Hey handsome."
"Babygirl what's happening."
"Hey daddy."
Odell huger Nadirah then he walked over to me and we kissed.
"What are you doing here?"
"I came to take my wife on a lunch date."
"Oh okay."
"Nadi you want to join us?"
"No y'all two go ahead I'm just going to head back to the house."
"You sure pumpkin?"
"Yes daddy I'm sure you and mama need to have some alone time."
"Alright pumpkin."
I stood up and picked up my purse and keys. Nadirah told Odell what she told me and he wasn't happy of course he was ready to cancel our lunch date but I stopped him. We all left out of my office and I closed and locked my door.
"Are you still going to work at the hospital?"
"Absolutely not daddy cause that's just going to give him more ammunition to stalk me again and I don't have time for it."
"Get a restraining order out on him."
"I'll do that before I head back to the house."
"Alright."
We walked out of the office Nadirah walked over to her car and got in me and Odell walked over to his car he opened the passenger door and I thanked him and got in. Odell nodded and closed the door I put my seatbelt on and waited on him to get in.
Braelyn After finding the perfect townhouse a few blocks away from my parents and making the purchase I made my way to get my furniture.
"Excuse me," I heard someone speak.
"Oh sorry."
I stepped out of his way and continued to look between both of the desks not liking either one I pulled out my phone and placed the order for the marble desk that I want to have in my office.
"Which desk do you think I should get for my office," the guy asked.
"It depends on the color scheme you want for your office sir and the vision you have."
"That's the thing I really don't know."
"I say go with the dark brown mahogany desk."
"Thanks."
"You're welcome I'm glad that I can help."
I walked away heading in another direction to continue furniture shopping.
About an hour later I'm at the register paying for everything that I wanted and gave the girl at the front desk my address for the furniture people to bring everything to my house. I thanked the girl again and walked out of the store I checked the time I made my way over to my car I unlocked my car doors and was about to get in when the guy from earlier stopped me.
"I'm sorry I didn't get your name earlier."
"Braelyn."
"Raheem."
We shook hands.
"Nice to meet you Braelyn."
"You too Raheem."
"Have a good rest of the day."
"You too Raheem."
I was about to reach for the door when Raheem reached for the door and opened it for me I thanked him and got in. Raheem closed my door and backed away from my car I placed my seatbelt on then I started up my car I put the gear in drive and drove off heading to the store.
2 hours later
My furniture have arrived and my refrigerator and pantry is fully stocked now I'm just relaxing I'll go to my parents house tomorrow to get the rest of my things. There was a knock at my door I stood up from the couch and walked through the foyer and over to the front door I looked in the peephole and saw Braxton I unlocked the door and opened it letting him in.
"Damn sis your house is nice," Braxton spoke as he walked in.
"Thanks bro."
I closed the door and we walked into the living room and sat down I took off my house shoes and placed my feet under me.
"You planning on going back to Cali and getting the rest of your things?"
"Yeah it's either going to be this weekend or one day next week plus I need to pack up my company and bring it here."
"You find a building?"
"Hopefully I will tomorrow."
"Okay."
"What we doing for our birthday," I asked.
"I was thinking that we should go out of the country."
"That's a good idea Brax where should we go," I asked.
"Bali."
"Okay so we gotta let everyone know."
"Right."
"How long are we going to be in Bali?"
"A week or week in a half."
"How about 2 weeks," I suggested.
"Yeah that's fine."
I grabbed my laptop on the coffee table and started looking up villas for us to stay Brax scooted next to me to see better.
