After spending a week in the library, working my way through my classes at breakneck speed, I am so ready for a break. I still have no idea what kind of date Damien has up his sleeve. I'm in my room getting ready, when Gil tells me Daddy is looking for me. I stare at my reflection; I can't help scowl at the image that stares back at me. I don't like who stares back and I can't hide from her. Throwing a robe over my underwear, I head downstairs. One never puts on her clothes until everything underneath is perfect. To have good confidence, one has to feel sexy in her most basic of clothing, no matter what's on top of it.

I knock on Daddy's study and I hear him say, "Enter."

"You wanted to see me?" I ask coming in and taking a seat. I throw my legs over the armrest when I see Michael and Gabriel against one wall and Amon against another. Good thing I'm in my underwear. That's definitely going to distract them or make them break out into a fight. Either way it will be entertaining.

"Yes," Dad says clearing his throat. "I told you we would talk today. Were you in the middle of something?"

"Sorta kinda not really," I say vaguely. I don't want him to really know about my date neither do I want him to find an excuse to postpone this talk. "I am going out later and I was just going through the arduous process of getting ready. What are we talking about again?"

"What else your father will ask of you," Michael growls from his corner, not looking at me but instead at my dad very closely.

I tense up. What else my father is going to ask me for. What else could he ask me for? Damn. "Which is?" I prompt.

My father looks uncomfortable. "I don't like being rushed," he says staring at his brother. I roll my eyes as he continues, "But, Michael has made a point he feels you need to know and Gabriel agrees with him."

I stare at him. I'm not going to interrupt. If his brothers are forcing Daddy to say something, it must be big. He generally, as a rule, ignores everything they say or do.

"You are Nephilim, which means you have all the powers of angels, but are mortal like humans," he begins.

"Didn't we have this talk when I was ten? Right before the sex one," I interrupt, trying to ease the tension. Plus, if I still talk like the bitch I used to be, he may let me go out tonight without questions. I think it would be a very bad idea if Daddy knew I was going on a date and not trying to get a soul for him.

He smiles but it's a tight one. "There is something I have neglected to tell you. You are mortal like a human, but you also have a soul like one."

I stare blankly at him for many moments. A soul? I have a soul? The daughter of the devil has a soul? I can't help myself but I laugh. It's almost maniacal.

"You're laughing? How can you laugh about this?" Gabriel exclaims, losing his composure for a second.

I'm still laughing and I just can't stop. Amon is hiding a smile behind his hand. He thinks this is funny too, but for probably completely different reasons.

"I have a soul? You've got to be shitting me," I say to them. "I can't have a soul. I'm the daughter of the Lightbringer."

"You do, Ro," Michael says standing up. "You have a soul and you are killing it with every one you take."

"I'm already going to hell. Explain to me why I should care?" I ask turning a cold look in his direction. I don't think I will ever forgive him for leaving me in Gabe's clutches for so long.

"You don't have to go to hell. You could go to heaven," he tells me.

"Or, there is a third option," Daddy interjects before I level another scathing remark to his brother.
