A/N: Hello again! I finished this chapter early again, so here we are! This chapter isn't quite as long as the previous one, but it's still 3771 words. Parts 3 and 4 will be out ASAP!
BEFORE YOU READ I HAD A THOUGHT. Do any of you think that it is possible that Tech has Asperger's syndrome/the Star Wars version of it? He seems to have some of the signs. Or this just me? It just kind of came to me as a thought while I was writing a scene with him in it a few days ago. I kinda headcanon it now.
I also want to take a minute to thank everyone for their comments and votes throughout this book, they really mean a lot! I have lot more planned for this book but I wouldn't have made it this far without everyone's support and encouragement! So thanks to you all!
"THE SEARCH FOR TRUTH BEGINS WITH BELIEF."
"Word is that the general staff isn't completely behind this mission," Hunter remarked as he walked through the Anaxes base with Abby, Rex, and General Skywalker. After their mission to the Cyber Center, the Bad Batch had agreed to stay and help out with the war efforts on Anaxes. The shipyards on the planet were vital to the Republic, but they were losing the planet to the Separatists. So, their next mission was to find where and how Echo was transmitting data to enemy lines.
"I admit the idea that Echo is still alive is a long shot," Rex agreed hesitantly.
"I'm sure that the Council will approve the mission. Just remember that the primary goal is to learn how the Separatists are predicting our strategy; whether Echo is behind it or not" Anakin reminded his Captain.
"Well if you want my opinion, sounds like a trap; but me and my team will tag along anway, even if it's just to say 'I told you so'," Hunter implored.
Abby had to resist the urge to elbow him in the side for his bluntness.
"Just make sure you're ready when we get the go-ahead from General Kenobi," Anakin nodded.
"If you're so certain that he'll approve the mission, why wait? Let's get going!" Rex suggested enthusiastically.
"I like the way you think, Captain. Besides, even if the mission is denied, we'll probably go anyways," Abby smirked.
"I like the way your mind works," Anakin chuckled. "But first, we have that 'thing' to do," he reminded his Captain.
"Uh, what thing?" Rex questioned.
"You know," Anakin said, nodding firmly in the direction of the clone barracks.
"We don't have time for that, sir," Rex mumbled.
"Yes we do," Anakin lowered his voice slightly.
"Well, we'll just let you sort this out. I'll be waiting on the ship with the rest of the team. Come on, Abby," Hunter gestured for her to follow.
(On a side note, when I watched this scene for the very first time, I LEGIT thought 'OMG ARE THEY HAVING AN AFFAIR!?!?!' 🤦🏼♀️😂 And I honestly believe that was Hunter thinking the same thing XD)
****************************************************************
Before too long, General Skywalker and Captain Rex had caught up with the others at the Havoc Marauder. According to Rex, Anakin had taken Abby's suggestion and hadn't even waited to find out what the Council thought of the mission from General Kenobi before rushing off.
