Prologue
It started as a deal, an agreement between the two of us I thought as a big joke.
Sa loob ng halos dalawang taong pag takas ko sa reyalidad, dalawang taong pag takbo sa mga problema, mga taong pag sulit sa bawat kasiyahang ibinigay sa akin ng mundo, I was with him.
It was shameful to admit that I wasn't even there with him when he needed me the most.
That instead of providing the comfort, I was in the war zone. Fighting for someone that doesn't worth it.
Isang kaso na naman ang naipanalo ko, at wala akong ideya kung ilan pa ang susunod o kung may susunod pa nga ba. Nilakad ko ang pagitan ng aking opisina at parking lot sa labas nito upang maka uwi na. I was greeted by a lot of workers worked in that law firm. Marami pa rin ang naka pila kahit na mag aala-singko na ng hapon. Bawat tao, iba-ibang problema.
"Attorney Reyes!"
"Good afternoon po." I greeted her back.
"Have a date today?" she arched a brow.
Natawa ako bago umiling. "You must be kidding me." sagot ko.
"Ikaw naman kasi! Get a boy friend, attorney! We are no longer kiddos! Sige ka, ikaw din."
"I have one. He's missing," I joked around.
She laughed and slightly flip her hair. "Oh siya, I gotta go. Make sure to win your case tommorow!" she informally said. Tumango na lamang ako bilang sagot.
This wasn't the profession I want for my self, but this time, I don't have any choice, again. I have no freedom, strength, I don't even know how to be independent anymore. To tell what I want. 'Ni wala akong lakas para manatili. Wala iyong lakas para ipag laban ko siya.
This job was very shameful. Years goes by and it made me realized that I could win. That I was able to fight for other people. To stand with them despite of the challenges and consequences. That I could really serve people well.
Kaya ko naman pala.
Kaya ko naman palang umapela, kaya ko palang mag seryoso at manalo.
But it was too late.
It's done, we're over.
