On the journey to the place of interest, we are not met with any ambushes. Everyone is relaxed and joking around. I am very tense because anything can go wrong. I feel like I am in the calm before the storm. After days of travel, we see a castle in the distance.
"I say we continue on and reach the castle tonight." Sara says.
"I second that." Lord Darkmin replies.
"That sounds like a great idea." Waluigi states.
I am in the back, to cover us in case something goes wrong.
We reach the castle right before dusk. We open the gates and I light a bunch of torches inside. We have enough light to see the main entrance hall. There are old bookshelves lining the walls, and a chandelier that I also light hanging over the staircase. Before we set up camp, we decided we would clear the castle to see if there is anything that would attack us while we sleep. Up the stairs is a long hallway with two doors at the end, and in the entrance hall there is a large oak door. I go up the stairs and take the door on the left. Taylia goes up the stairs but stops to look at something halfway down the hall. Everyone else looks at the books. I enter what looks like a bedroom, but there is no bed. I poke around and find a lot of capes in the closet. On a desk are some vials of a red liquid. I peace it together and try to alert everyone but Taylia pulls a lever in the hall. A trap door beneath me opens up and I fall in. I slide in a stone tunnel and appear outside. I look around, but it is night time and the mist has covered a lot of the courtyard. I feel a dark presence somewhere but I don't think about that as I hurry over to the large oak doors.
I tried to open them but they would not budge. They are locked from the inside. Ok, Plan B. I think as I charge up a huge fire attack. I blast the door and it splinters inward. I take in the scene of chaos that happened when I was outside. Taylia was tackled and rolled down the stairs by a vampire spawn. A direwolf is attacking Big D. Finally everyone else is fighting five other vampire spawns.
Fuck. I think as I run into the battle. I throw the vampire spawn off of Taylia and launch it at the direwolf. The direwolf promptly eats it and stops attacking. Instead, it runs out into the courtyard. Big D tries to chase it but one of the spawns blocks him. Waluigi and Lord Darkmin have already killed them with their holy attacks. Everyone else is almost finished with theirs. I race outside to see the Direwolf barking at something. When I approach to attack it, it changes size and is now the size of a wolf. I just tamed it by feeding it. I think as I search for the origin of the dark presence I feel.
I reach out with my mind, and something reaches back. I look across the field and see the mist condensing into a being of shadows. A vampire has appeared and rushes toward me. My reflexes kick in just in time, right before he could grab me and bite my neck. One slip up and you are dead. I think to myself as I try to hit it with a blast but to no effect. I try and recall my knowledge on them but when you are face to face with a monster, and are in battle, knowledge goes right out the window. One thing does pop into my mind when I look at where it's heart would be. A wooden stake. I take out one of my crossbow bolts that I never use, because I have no need for it regularly, and take my knife and make a point. I do this as fast as I can but not fast enough because the vampire grabs me. Shit. I try to break free but nothing works. He snaps his head back and I see his two front teeth drilled to a point. As I am about to say hello to the Grim Reaper, the direwolf, I will affectionately call Fenris wolf from now on, leaps into action and clamps his jaws on the neck of the vampire dealing massive damage. His grip loosens up on my arms just enough to hit him with a dagger. It did not do as much but it stunned him. I load my crossbow right when he disappears and I feel his presence go deep underground. This all happened so fast, it was in the span of six seconds. Taylia had no time to react as she was still toward the entrance of the courtyard. I rushed inside with Fenris, to see how the party was doing. Everyone was boasting about their kills when they noticed me. Everyone sees the look on my face and has a puzzled expression on their face, all except Big D, who grumbles to himself about me taming his prey.
"Vampire. Secret basement. Help now." I say as I start throwing books off the shelves. Everyone starts to pitch in, even Fenris helps by knocking an entire bookshelf down.
"Thank god, we throw books, not use them. Me hard read." says Big D.
Finally, I hear Fiona yell that she found something. We all look over to her and see a swing aside to reveal a long spiraling staircase descending somewhere we cannot see. At this time we are all out of light so I hold up my hand and allow some of my emotion to be released. Fire engulfed my hand and provided tons of light for us. I keep my crossbow in my other hand, waiting for a chance to shoot his heart. We descend down into the depths of the castle.

We all go down endless stairs until we reach the bottom. When we get there, we can't help but stare. We are in a large chamber with treasure all along the far wall. It would probably total up to about one hundred thousand. In the center of the room, is a large coffin. Inside the box, the vampire sleeps. It is regenerating it's health as time goes by. Big D, Waluigi, and Darkmin go over to the box and prepare to kill the vampire, in the wrong way.
"NOO!" I shout as I try to stop them but it is all in vain as they look into the vampires, who I now know the name of, eyes.
Barlo has just taken control of the tanks. FUCKING HELL! I duck under three blades aimed at my neck.
"Distract them!" I yell at the rest of the party. I don't wait for a response as I rush over to the coffin. I grab my wooden stake, and am about to drive it into his heart when I am slapped across the room by Big D. He has too much strength for his own good. Fenris tries to protect me but he is punted to the stairs. I see Finn confused as why his friends are attacking each other.
"Finn!" I scream. He sees me and does not know what to do. "Take this and stab Barlo in the heart. Do not look in his eyes." I say as I toss my makeshift wooden Stake. He catches it and jumps into the box.
"NOOOO!" Barlo screams but it is too late. Finn brings the stake down on his heart and black blood starts spraying everywhere. After the spraying, he disintegrates to dust. All that is left, are his two yellowed fangs. The hypnosis disappears and the three tanks come to their senses. Darkmin and Waluigi heal us all, even Fenris. We then turn toward the pile of treasure. We all decide to split it evenly. Big D gets a large enchanted battle axe. Darkmin and Waluigi both get new crucifixes. Finn gets some enchanted wood that allows him to grow trees like a wall. Fiona gets a harp. Sara gets a new Staff that allows her to cast more spells. Taylia gets some crude daggers that she strapped to her calves. I get some new enchanted rings that allow me to summon radiant damage. We all also get about ten thousand gold. After all of that gold collecting we head back to town to report what happened.
