The metallic scent of blood fills the air. Blood that is so dark, it is almost black, sprays out. I drop the body and watch as it falls to the ground. I fly back up and survey the damage. I pick up the holy artifact and let it's healing energy engulf everyone. They all slowly get back up. I let my wings retract back in. While they are getting back up, I am checking on my dragons. They seem fine, fast asleep. I sigh with relief and go back up to the deck.

...

Days go by and we are wondering where to go. I try to make new spells like invisibility and teleportation. I can do a little bit of each, but I need more time. One day, when we are arguing where to go, a falcon flies onto our ship. All of us stop arguing and look at the bird. I see a piece of paper attached to it's leg. I untie it and read aloud. It was sent by Kyle.

"Dear Anarack and Friends. I am sorry I sent you off like that. I should have at least told you something for your effort. First, I sent a letter to the Mayor of that town so you can collect that gold you need." I start.

"Well I know where we are going now." Big D says.

"Shut up!" Taylia hisses.

"After you get your gold, travel north to the mountains. There is something important there related to the prophecy. I wish you will. Kyle." I finished.

"What is north? And what prophecy?" Sara asks.

"I don't know" I lie "But we should take his advice and go north."
"I second that. I trust Kyle." Darkmin says.

"Anyone oppose that idea?" Waluigi says.

No-one answers.

"Then it is settled." I say.

We direct our ship to the town with the greedy Mayor to collect our gold.

...

He begrudgingly hands over the gold to us and we say goodbye.

"Where are you going?" he asks.

"North." I say as our ship goes higher and higher.

We rocket to the north into the mountains.

I am examining the shard in my room when I cut myself on a rough edge.

"Ow!" I hiss as some blood starts to drip from the cut. The room starts to spin and I slump onto my bed. Everything goes black.

...

I find myself in a dark void unable to leave. I can't move around. A bright light flashes before my eyes. A deep voice appears out of nowhere.

"DO YOU ACCEPT THIS BLOOD CONTRACT?"

I do not know what is going on. I blurt out yes.

"BLOOD CONTRACT HAS BEEN FORMED. YOU WILL HAVE TO FIND THE OTHER TWO PIECES OF THE AMULET, AND THE OTHER PIECES OF THE SCYTHE! FARWELL!"

I awoke with the cut on my thumb, fully healed. I now have another task. Find the other shards, and complete a broken scythe.
