Outside, the hot and dry air feels great. Everyone hated the cold dank air of the tomb. The walk back to the town was not hard. We were actually closer to the town then the tomb. Everyone felt stronger after we were outside. When we entered the town, we went to the Mayor.
"Oh thank the Celestials. You made it back." He exclaimed when we entered his office.
"Didn't we tell you, WE ARE THE BEST!" Big D booms. Everyone laughs with him.
"We need to see Kyle." I say getting back on topic.
"Yes, yes. Follow me."
The Mayor leads us up Kyle's tower. We go up a long spiraling staircase to the top. We all were unsure of what was going to happen. When we get to the top, we see Kyle slumped over his desk. It seems he is researching something. I clear my throat and he turns to look at us.
"Welcome travelers. I apologize for letting you see the state I was in the last time you visited." Kyle spoke.
"It is alright. We just wanted to make sure you were ok." Darkmin says.
"Well, you have seen me. Please leave if you have nothing more to say. Time is of the essence right now." Kyle says gesturing to the door.
"Actually, we do have something else to talk about." I say grabbing his attention.
"And what is that?"
"Two things actually. First, we went into the Tomb of the Ancients." I say.
His eyes widened in surprise.
"You actually went into the tomb? Unbelievable! No-one has ever survived and returned."
We show him the heart of the Earth Elemental. He begins to study it but tells us things we already know. When the others leave, I stay behind to talk with him.
"When I was here before, you mentioned a lot that does not make sense." I say.
"Well of course it would not make sense. It is a prophecy. No-one ever understands it fully. And before you ask, no you are not allowed to know it." Kye responds.
"That is not actually what I was going to say." I pull out the dagger, and the shard. His eyes widened even further.
"Where did you get that?"
"I found it in the tomb. It was in this large room that was being defended by the Earth Elemental."
"I never thought I would see the king blade of the underworld." Kyle says in almost a whisper. "Be extra careful with that. You can do so many things with that."
"Ok, so I guess I am the one to wield it?"
"Yes, you are. Now leave here. Oh, one more thing. You must collect the rest of the shards. Now OUT!" he pushes me out of the door.
________________________________
I decide not to share with my friends. We restock our supplies in the shop before we begin our journey back to the ship. We do not encounter any enemies while we are traveling. It feels longer than the journey to the town. When we leave the desert heat, we all agree that we will not go into the desert for a long time.
...
In the forest I let Fenris, Drogon, Eragon, Tirin, and Rith out of the tower. My dragons look a lot bigger. They are about the size of houses now. They soar overhead while we walk back to the ship. We take a stop at the town.
When we walked in, some of the locals that saw us stopped the creatures, start joking.
"I wonder what is going to terrorize us so we can have our saviors jump in action?"
We are far too tired to joke with them. We check into the inn and get some room keys. My dragons, and Fenris continue to the ship, taking refuge in the cargo hold. We get seven rooms for the eight of us. Taylia passes out room keys to everyone but me. They all go to their rooms. When they go, Taylia beckons me to follow her.
...
When we wake up, we eat and continue to our ship. When we get there, I clean up the room that my dragons destroyed. After that I go check on them. Fenris is in his larger form, just so he can be as big as them. They are all sleeping. I step into the furnace and start broadcasting.
"It is going to get rough."
"Can you hold onto something this time Big D?" Everyone laughs at this.
"I will try," he responds as I increase my flames. We slowly lift off the ground. Just to mess with them I say I will give a countdown.
"Alright, on 3... 3!" we rocket forward. I hear cursing from Big D as he was not ready. Everyone laughs again.
"SHIT!" that message was not from Big D, but from Darkmin.
"What is wrong?" everyone asks.
"We are under attack!"
They all frantically go to battle stations while I have the ship slow.
"What the hell are you doing?" Waluigi asks angrily.
"Just tell me when they are within thirty feet of the hull. This trick will only work once." I tap into my emotions and my flames turn white.
"They are on the hull, whatever you are going to do, NOW IS THE TIME TO DO IT!" I hear Finn announce.
I pull the lever on the far right marked HULL DEFENCE.
I do not see it, but I know what happens. My flames burst out of small holes on the side of the ship, burning everything in a thirty foot radius. The creatures now know of that attack and will only attack from the top. I just hope I took enough of them out. After a while, a new idea pops into my head. I pull the lever labeled CARGO HOLD. My dragons, angry to have been awoken, fly outside to join the fight.
