"Thank you so much." The previous town Mayor says.
"Any time." Darkmin says. He was glaring at me for doing something so 'horrific'. I guess that is what I get for being Chaotic Neutral in a party of Lawful Good, Chaotic Good, or Neutral Good. Only Waluigi and Darkmin are mortified at what I did. Big D was even saying I was in his words a 'CERTIFIED BADASS'. I just can't get everyone to like me in this group. I already agreed to go to a temple after this with them and pray to whatever god I choose to 'repent' just to shut them up about it. I do not want to be on bad terms with the two healers of the group.
"Have you seen the scholar we are looking for? We were sent here to help him with his work." I ask, trying to get back on track.
"Yes, I have seen him. He is the only scholar who has ever visited here in the last ten years." The Mayor replies. He leads the entire group to the tower the scholar is using for his laboratory. When we get up there, he looks panicked and crazy.
"I will step in first." I whisper to the others "Come in when I tell you to."
I stare at Big D when I say the last part.
"Yea yea, ok." is his response.
With that I step into the laboratory of the scholar.
"Who are you?" the scholar asks while grabbing me by the front of my shirt. His eyes are wild and bloodshot, scanning every part of my face. His hair and beard is unkept like he was awake for thirty nights straight. He is not older than thirty, but he looks sixty. His whole body is shaking in what looks like fear.
"I am Anarack. I am here to help."
The scholar does not let go, and continues to study me. He starts to mutter under his breath. I catch snippets of it, but nothing I can make any sense of.
"Armor... Black thunder... Grim Reaper... Save or destroy..."
"Are you ok?" I ask him. He was starting to freak me out. Now he looks at me. Not like before with suspicion and paranoia, but with eyes that know all too much.
"It is you." Is all he says before he collapses.
"Guys, GET IN HERE!" I yell for them. They rush in, Big D with his axe drawn for a fight. Darkmin and Waluigi help me lay him on his bed. He probably collapsed of exhaustion. I think to myself. Finn, and the two healers start to evaluate what happened. Fiona and Sara watch the exit. Big D, for all of his idiocy, checks the windows to see if he can spot someone fleeing. He has good instincts. Taylia asks what happened. I decide to tell them everything.
...
"Well that is not much to go on." Sara says.
"It is the only lead we got." Finn says.
They are all arguing amongst themselves about what we should do. I see the Mayor enter the room, and look like he would like to say something.
"GUYS!" I project. Everyone shuts up. "You can talk now." I say to the mayor indicating he had our attention.
"The Scholar, whose name is Kyle, was asking around about if he could get permission to go and view a tomb. But there are so many out here in the desert, it is impossible to tell what tomb he wished to visit."
I start to feel an energy emanating from the scholar, Kyle. I feel like he is trying to tell me something, but can't right now. I open my mind and hear Kyle's voice.
"The tomb where ancient beings roam, and evils call home. A stone to find, and a beast to unbind."
"Can I see a map?" I ask aloud "Of all of the desert?"
The Mayor pulls out a map from his pocket.
"I always have maps with me in case I get lost."
He gives it to me and I spread it out on a table. I scan all of the tombs until I see one whose name fits the scripture.
"There! We are going to the Tomb of the Ancients." I say aloud.
"But, no one has ever come back alive from there." the Mayor says fearful that the new heroes would go on a suicide mission.
"I know, that is exactly why we will succeed."

We all start to gear up for the long journey to the Tomb of the Ancients. The Mayor begs us to stay but we refuse saying
"We were sent here to help the scholar."
He started acting like we were already dead.
...
When we get to the location where the tomb is located, we start to look around. I can see large spires of where other tombs are located in the distance, but nothing close. I see Taylia start to walk over to the rest of us. I look at one of the spires, then back. She is gone. I look at the main group but they do not notice she is gone, she is not even with them. I start to panic. I rush over to where I last saw her and see a large sinkhole being filled back up with sand.
"GUYS!" I shout and I hear them all start to run over.
"What is it?" Sara asks, out of breath.
"Taylia, she just vanished. I think she found the entrance and fell in it." I reply.
"That makes no sense." Waluigi says.
"Don't believe me, watch." I say and jump into the sand. I slide down a tunnel of hardened sand until I am on a stone floor. It is pitch black in the area I am in. I get up and feel a blade press against my neck. I splay my hands and summon fire. Taylia's eyes widen in recognition when she sees me.
"Next time say something or I would have sliced your throat." She says "I already killed about ten undead in the time it took you to get here." And she kicks a bone aside. I see a ton of bone dust from what were once skulls.
We hear screaming from behind us and out of the wall, pops Big D. Seriously, how did he even fit in there?
"THAT WAS AWESOME!" he roars. Everyone else flies out behind him.
"Why did you yell?" I hiss at him.
"Because, IT WAS FUN!" he booms.
I rolled my eyes and looked at the corridor. There is a room on our right, and at the end of the hallway, it splits off in different directions.
"We are clearing this tomb room by room. Is that understood?" I say.
Everyone nods in agreement.
I enter the room in the back, to cover our flank and am greeted by five skeletons. I would have liked it if all of us battled the skeletons in an unorganized fashion, but it did not happen. The tanks took the most hits and we dealt damage from behind them. Most of our attacks were ineffective.
"Can you give me a boost?" Finn asks me during the fight.
"Sure." I say, wondering where he is going with this. I hoist him up and he jumps over the tanks. He then proceeds to goomba stomp on a skeleton, crushing it's skull in the process. That is right, the only way to effectively kill skeletons is by doing bludgeoning damage.
I take out my bo staff and proceed to whack the skull across the room. The skull starts to roll back to the main body to re-attach but I crush it to dust. Everyone else sees what we did and follows suit.
The battle ends with a lot of dust everywhere.
We find nothing of value in the room and continue on, taking a right in the hallway.
