Prophecy Of Destruction- Book 1

ADVENTURE- CH 4

"Welcome Back! I knew you could do it!" We are greeted by the Mayor at the gates of the town. It seems he has gotten pudgier since we last saw him. Also all of the bodies have been taken away, but I am not inclined to try today's mystery meat at the Butchers shop.

"Now, where are my merchants?" the Mayor asks with curiosity looking behind us.

"Dead" Sara says "Vampire got em. We had to put em down."

"Oh... well I will send gifts to their families. Thank you for your services, I have another quest for you..."

I interrupt him.

"What about our gold? We don't work for free." I say. I can see his shoulders slump. He was not planning to pay us for our services.

"Fine, five thousand gold pieces each." he says. We all nod in agreement as that would be acceptable.

We head into town to resupply. I buy some more healing potions and rations. Soon, we will get an Airship. I think as I spy one in the distance transporting cargo. Airships are huge ships, made of wood and metal, that have a blast furnace in the middle. They require a Sorcerer to power it. They have giant Crossbows and Balistas on each side of it, and they can go in water if necessary.

I almost have enough to buy one but I would like to pool our gold together so we all own it.

When we walk into the Mayor's office we are greeted by the smell of incense. He apparently is afraid of ghosts. I think as I see tons of warding glifs and burning incense.

"Now then" he starts "There is an old watch tower that we have lost contact with. Can you go check it out and see what is going on?"

"Sure, but let's talk about pricing." says Taylia.

"Ug... fine" the Mayor says, looking very reluctant.

We come to an agreement of ten thousand gold and whatever is inside the tower that we would like. He gives us the location and we start heading over.

When we arrive we see a very old stone tower with moss all over it. There is a narrow staircase leading up to the top. When we finally get to the top of the tower, we enter the area. It is huge inside. Hallways going everywhere. This is a mini castle. We all are planning on how to deal with the creatures farther down when a sword almost hits Big D. we turn to look at what threw it and are staring at an Oni.

I have dealt with one before and they are very annoying. They can change their size and can throw items everywhere. They phase through walls so they are almost impossible to hit.

"Darkmin, Waluigi, start reciting the exorcist handbook section five c." I yell at them. I just had a guess that they studied it, and I was right. They instantly go into praying positions while invoking holy powers.

"Protect them!" Fiona yells as a rock hits her right in the shoulder. A huge hammer almost takes off Big D's head but he stays standing, and even throws it back at the Oni. The oni just catches it and knocks him out with the next throw.

Finally, the verse is recited and the Oni is vaporised by holy energy. Exhausted from blocking daggers, I slump down while everyone gets healed by Darkmin and Waluigi.

We check all of the doors and see tons of armor and weapons. I take a sword and enchant it with water creation. I had a sixth sense feeling that I should as everyone looks for something valuable. We find the stairs to go deeper into the tower, and find something that resembles a mineshaft. It slopes downward for about thirty feet. We all cautiously go down and are in a huge cave area, where lava is on both sides of the platform. I see something moving in the lava and see huge crystals at the other end of the platform.

Just when we are about to go and get a closer look at the crystals, three fire serpents and two fire salamanders appear. Shit, My fire abilities are useless! I think as I duck under a salamander's long spear. The tanks of our group are fighting with the serpents. Big D rips the jaws apart of one, but takes massive fire damage. Waluigi and Darkmin are teaming up to take down the other two. The two salamanders are left for us. Fiona uses her vicious mockery spell and says

"yo moma so fat, when she went into the ocean, all the wales thought she was bigger than them." One takes massive psychic damage and now is too afraid to attack. The other, after seeing what we did to its sibling, rushes us.

I get skewered by the spear made out of fire. I get thrown backwards and hit the wall. I wonder why I did not take damage but I remember that I am immune to fire. This is really helpful right now. I think as I charge the Salamander.

"NOOO!" I scream as Fenris is launched across the room, with his coat of fur singed. I start to lose control as I tackle the salamander into the lava.

"Nooo!" I hear Taylia yell as I fall in. I take my sword and chop off its head in the lava and climb back out. Everyone was just shocked as I survived. By now, Darkmin and Waluigi have finished dealing with the serpents.

"I'll explain later." I say to them.

Just then we hear a large Roar from behind the crystals.
