"Back to normal." says Walawigi. We all just stare in shock. None of us knows what to think. "Don't worry, this happened before. Ten times to be exact." We all most look stupid, wide eyed and open mouthed. We are all freed from our trance when Big D says "Where did you get baby dragon?"
Everyone turns to me. I forgot that I had the four of them on my shoulders when we were fighting. Now, one is in my hair, one on each shoulder, and one is hanging on my back. They are making a lot of noise and trying to flap their wings, getting ready to learn how to fly. They keep looking adorable.
"I got them from the nest of gold." I say flatly, taking a defensive position.
"They are adorable." Fiona says.
"I can't take my eyes off it." Sara agrees.
I give the hatchlings some of my rations so they can eat. I have got names for them. I think as they eat. The aggressive male is Drogon, the aggressive female is Eragon. The other male is Tirin, and the final female is Rith. I tell them their names and they seem to like them, and respond well to them. I speak in draconic so the others cannot understand me.
...
When we get back to the town, we are not greeted by the Mayor, no-one even notices us. We all calculate our money and I suggest we buy an AIRSHIP. Everyone is in love with that idea. We head down to the docks and I see a huge one. Made of metal and the belly opens up for storage. It is totaled to be around one hundred thousand gold. We cheerfully hand over the money for the ship and rent space on the dock for a few hours. I am going to be the fuel for the ship and, in the cargo space, the dragons will make their homes. I discuss my plans and everyone likes it. Once all of that is settled, we go to the Mayor's office.
...
"Here ya go." the Mayor says all too eagerly. We just told him that a dragon was behind the missing guards at the tower.
"I can't wait to get my hands on those eggs." he says rubbing his hands together.
"Actually" I start "you said we can have ALL the loot from the tower. I have the hatchlings here with me." I say with a smile on my face.
His face goes slack and his jaw opens as he realizes his own stupidity. He smacks his face and leans back.
"Any other jobs for us?" Big D says itching for a fight. This entire time I could see he was fighting the urge to take his axe and chop the greedy Mayors head off.
"Yes actually, this is going to be a long one so the reward is one million gold." our eyes light up at that. "We have a scholar who was in a town that was cut off from us. I need you to go check it out, and help the scholar with his work."
"We accept this quest." Finn blurts out. I have a feeling that all of us would have accepted just by the amount of gold.
We head to the market to buy the essentials. Rations, and huge bolts. The bolts resemble arrows and the good thing is that every village has them. We board our ship and put the bolts, strapped on, on the deck. We all claim rooms. I take the one closest to the furnace and the storage. My dragons stay in my room for now and I make my way to the furnace. A cool feature about this ship is that it allows you to telepathically talk to whoever you want, at will. I step inside the furnace and shut the door. I checked beforehand and saw new technology that we have not seen before. An extra fuel tank, they called it. My heat would charge the extra fuel tank, and fire would run along the inside of the hull. There is a small gap between the two walls, so that fire can pass through and not burn the ship. There is a piece of glass that allows the fire to be seen. This is the light and heating system of the ship.
'Everyone hang on!' I telepathically say to everyone as I prepare to ignite. I have a set of controls for the ship and a large glass view out one side of the furnace so I can see where we are going. I also made sure that this ship is enchanted with fire resistance. Now that everything is in place, I lose control of my emotions, and blast a fireball at me. I allow my fire to spread everywhere. I pull a leaver with the ruins LIFT in them and we start to rise out of the water. When we are pointing the right direction using small directional jets of fire, I drop the pieces of metal blocking the main thrusters. I slam into the wall as we take off with such force, I am left feeling dazed.
'You ASSHOLE!' Is projected into my mind from Big D. I also get an ow from other people.
'I told you to hold onto something, didn't I?' I project to them.
'FUCK YOU!' Big D sends as a response.

Exhausted I climb out of the blast furnace and stumble to my room. When I get inside I flop onto my bed. I hear my dragons sleeping in the corner I made for them. I found some leather and some wool for them that they refused, so I made piles of gold and they instantly fought over who got which one. Screeching at each other and trying to hit each other with their weak arms. It was cute but I had to stop it, I made all of them evenly big and placed each one on a random one. They all stopped arguing when the parents stepped into their fight.
I feel something in my bed. I jump up, fully alert and see Talyia smiling at me.
"Well, aren't you going to join me?" She teases me. I climb in and kiss her.
...
When I wake up, we have arrived at our destination. I go to the furnace and pull the lever with the ruins LAND. I feel some metal parts in the belly of the ship open up and place 'legs'' out that we softly ease onto. The fuel container stops spewing flames as soon as we land. It was almost out of fuel anyway. We are about one mile away from the town.
I leave the dragons to their own devices inside as I do not want them to get hurt. At the same time I am probably going to regret doing that because they will probably destroy something, or end up fighting. We start walking over, first at a stroll, but then we sprint as we see smoke coming from the town.
...
Half of the town is ablaze with fire. We run in and see some people running away from the town. We rush in and see people with elaborate costumes lighting buildings on fire. They are wearing feathers, bones, and skulls. They are chanting over and over
"Ka Ren Took! Ka Ren Took!"
They are obviously cultists trying to summon something. We all rush into it. Even Big D rushes into it, and he is an idiot. He probably did not do the logical thinking part and felt something in his subconscious that made him attack, either that or he just wanted a fight. It is hard to tell with him.
We all launch into action, a lot more coordinated than the first time we fought together on those docks. I am not using too many spells because a lot of people are close, so I am using my two daggers. I am cutting open the throats of cultists, and plunging my daggers into their guts. We are doing well for the first time, and no-one has taken any damage.
I quickly assess the situation when I get a break from fighting and notice, they were not performing a summoning ritual.
"Wait..." I yell but it is too late.
I can understand a cultist yelling something in the language infernal.
"Save Us Oh Great Beings!"
As the last word is ripped out of his mouth, something replies.
The earth starts to tremble and screeches can be heard around us, in every direction. We may have killed the cultists, but we could have just dug our own graves.
