"I can't let you be mad at me," He pulled me close to him.
"Fine, I give up," I sighed.
He pulled away a little to look me in the eyes, he smiled.
-----
It was the day of our state championships and I was standing up against the glass barrier as they called out our teams names.
"Star hockey player, Luke Hemmings, number 96," The announcer spoke.
The crowd yelled and screamed. He searched the crowd, his eyes landed dead on me, his face was straight, no emotion. I smiled softly, he kept his face straight and winked at me.
He did a good luck lap around the ice as the entire stadium cheered his name.
The opposing team raced out onto the ice. I could see all of their smirk covered faces as the skated pass our team. They think they can win, we'll show them.
The game started as the boys were trying harder than ever to score at least one point. The boys on the other team were knocking, bashing, and beating us into the barriers, it was quite a bloody sight. Infact, I could almost hear the coach tell them to 'suck it up princesses'.
It was into the last few minuets of the game and we had this in the bag, all Luke had to do was score, it was an easy shot. He pulled his precious hockey stick back and brought it back down with force, the slick puck slipped right passed the goalie.
The crowd roared. I screamed with pride. Just seconds after the shot was made a boy from the other team came racing right into Luke. His body slammed against the wall, and must I say, with force. It made the most horrid noise i've ever heard. All of the boys came rushing to his side, teammates and coaches. After a few attempts of trying to pick his aching body off the ground, they finally did it. He was carried off the ice, into the locker room.
I ran as fast as I could to get to the locker room, I swung the door open, my eyes darted around. They were all in a circle around him as they put his body on a stretcher. He whimpered in pain and I sprinted to the sight, pushing passed the other boys. I stood next to the stretcher, he looked up at me. He smiled weakly. I set my hand on top of his softly so I wouldn't hurt him. They offered me a ride to the hospital in the back of the ambulance. Luke said yes for me since I had been crying and my voice was too weak to speak.
When we arrived they rushed him into the ER and made me wait in the waiting room until he was all clear.
Once they gave me the chance to see him, I was guided by a nurse to his room. I opened the door slowly, afraid of what I might see. He was sitting up in bed, shirtless, as the doctor cleaned up some scrapes, he had a cast. His eyes shot over to me and a smile took over the frown that was present only moments before. He lifted up his good arm and beckoned me over to him. I shuffled over to him and took the spot next to him. The doctor finished him up and left us alone.
"Well, you won," I said, trying to brighten the mood.
"So is this like my trophy because if it is I don't like it," He smiled as he pointed to the cast.
"It can't be that bad," I said.
"Did you hear me get slammed into the wall though, that was just horrible," He cringed at the memory.
"Tell me about it, I witnessed it with my eyes," I laughed a little.
"Yeah, sorry about that, princess," He sighed.
"Why?" I asked confused.
"Cause you had to see me get crushed up into a wall and fracture my wrist and get all these scrapes and shit."
"Well nobody ever said hockey was safe," I pointed out.
"You have a point," He agreed, "and also nobody ever said hockey didn't hurt. Because if they did, hell, they were so wrong."
I nodded in agreement.
"Lets get outta here," He said and stood up cautiously.
I stood up and followed his lead.
"Can you hold my hand?" he asked and held out his hand.
"Of course," I smiled and took his hand.
We walked out of the hospital and called his friend to come pick us up, Calum I think.
When he pulled up, Luke opened the back door for me and I crawled in, Luke following my actions, I reached over and shut the door for him and buckled up.
It was a smooth ride, I suppose Calum planned the route so he wouldn't throw Luke around on the bumpy roads.
"Ow ow ow ow, ouch fuck, ow ow," Were the only words that escaped Luke's mouth during the drive home.
I giggled a little as his nose scrunched up and he cursed under his breath. This was so amusing.
When we arrived at Luke's house I helped him out of the car and he guided me to the front door. Once he unlocked it I walked in. This house is amazing.
"Princess can you help me? sorry if Im being whiny," He asked. I turned around to face him. I shut the front door and lead him to the kitchen, because that where the first aid kit was. He sat up on the table as I got out some band-aids. I stood in between his legs and placed the band-aids accordingly to his cuts and finished it off with a bunch of gauze wrapped around his torso to protect it.
I backed up and allowed him to get off the table. He hopped off and stood in front of me.
"Thanks," He sent a small smile down to me.
"No problem," I waved my hand in dismissal.
"But, really, thank you," He repeated.
I smiled, "for what?"
"For being here and going to the hospital with me and for being so pretty."
I blushed.
He leaned down and grabbed the back of my thighs, picking me up. He held me closely to his torso and nuzzled his head into my neck.
"I mean it," He stated, his breath was hot against my neck.
I will admit, I was a little turned on. And his sweet little gestures only made it worse. He kissed my neck once and then pulled away to look me in the eyes.
"So, so pretty," He whispered. He leaned in and kissed my lips shortly and then let me down onto the floor. I was dumbfounded by that and stood there like a idiot trying to comprehend what just happened, I swear I was about to fall over because I was so weak in the knees for this boy. I actually started to fall for a second but he wrapped his arms around my waist to prevent it, "careful Princess."
"Sorry," I mumbled almost silently.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"Yeah, yeah, Im fine. Just.... Woah."
He chuckled slightly and kissed my cheek. He backed away from me and scanned my frozen body, he was like a driver and I was the deer in the headlights. He seemed amused by what he had done, "Too soon?"
"No Im just surprised and stuff," I stated.
"It was a kiss," He shrugged.
Was that it?
"You're saying that it's usual to kiss girls whenever you want?" My voice was slightly raised, his comment made me mad for no certain reason, I just was.
"No, but it was just a kiss, nothing special," He replied coolly.
I glared at him and stomped towards the front door, him hot on my trail. Right before I opened the door, he snatched my wrist and pulled me back and before I could react he ha me pinned to the wall.
"Are you saying that you want it no be more than a kiss?" he asked, his face was undeniably close to mine and his eyes showed some sign of anger.
"No but you should really value those kinds of moments because if you keep this up then there's gonna be a day when nobody's going to be willing to do that with you," I spat.
He leaned in closer, "Is that really what you think?" His voice was laced with venom.
"Yeah, you should take it seriously."
Right then and there he crashed his lips on mine with such force that I thought I would break. I didn't give in, I didn't kiss him back. He pulled away a little, "Kiss me back," He growled and kissed me again.
I didn't do what he said and he pulled his head back to look at me, "You got a nerve."
"So do you," I shot back.
"You know what? Get out. Don't come back. Fuck yourself for all I care. Leave me alone, never come to another game ever again, I'll drop out of all the classes I have with you and find new ones. Don't ever talk to me, text me, look at me, or even think about me ever again. I'll take care of myself. I don't need you and to be honest, I never did in the first place, I just wanted those nice lips of yours. You can forget about everything that happened between us and go on in your separate path because I could care less what you do anymore. Leave. For good," He yelled and let me go.
I started to cry right there, real tears. His eyes stayed cold, not caring if I was crying or not.
"Get out!" He screamed.
I walked over to the door and opened in, I took one glance back at the boy who I thought I had been falling for and never looked back again.
