Chapter 15

The answer was of course yes. So Cameron ran over and was here in minutes, dropping off pregnancy tests. They came back positive.
"Skyler this baby is going to be born a vampire. And it's going to grow inside you as a vampire too." As a baby they can age up until they are 16. But in the womb they are growing at incredible speed.
"You know how when you are injured, you heal within minutes...well that's because your systems work faster. That's going to apply to the baby. It will be born in a matter of weeks Sky.."
"What do I tell Ed?" I say.
"What the fuck is going on!" Mine and Cameron's heads turn to Ed standing in the doorway.
"Ed, it's not what it looks like!" I say.
"Forget it Skyler."
"No, Ed wait!" I scream. I would compel him but you can't compel someone who is in love with you.
Besides...he's gone. I tell Cameron to get out and he obeys. Then I run to Eds house, where his door is open wide and the smell of alcohol is strong.
"Ed?" I yell.
"Go away!" I hear back. I follow the sound of his voice and find him lying on his sofa, a bottle of vodka in his hand.
"Let me explain"
"go away" he says bluntly.
"Ed-"
"Go away!"
"EDWARD IM PREGNANT!" His mouth falls speechless as he stands up.
"How did this happen? The only time we were unprotected was a few days ago...." What do I tell him? I could tell him the truth but I don't know...screw it. He has to find out sometime.
"Ed I have some explaining to do." I sit him down and start talking. I start with the accident and when I tell him about Cameron biting me fear creeps into his eyes.
"Your..a vampire?" He says. I nod.
"That's impossible..." He whispers. I show him my fangs and he jumps back in fear.
"No don't be scared, please!" And so I explain the rest. He has no choice but to believe me.
"Have you ever...bitten me?" He asks.
"No." He nods and looks down at my belly.
"So this baby.." He puts his hand on my stomach.
"It's going to be a vampire too."
"Yeah...our little monster." To my surprise he laughs. Then he picks me up and spins me round.
"I'm going to be a daddy!"
"Ed....you're okay with this?"
"You're going to live forever Skyler...you and my child will never suffer dying. I'm more than okay." Suddenly I feel really bad. What if I can't beat the vampire? Me and my baby will die and Ed will be crushed....
"So what now Ed?" I say.
"Move in with me. Or with you, your house is nicer." I laugh and he puts me down.
"I love you Ed." I say.
"I love you too."
And so we get to work straight away. We start packing up his neat house. We call Cameron and I ask him to come over and help us pack. With me and Cameron using our speed we are finished and ready to go within minutes. We take all the stuff to my place, unpack and settle in. I look around my rearranged house as Ed comes up to me and grabs my waist. He kisses me gently then runs a single finger over my already growing belly. I giggle as he kneels down and kisses my stomach.
"Hey there little one" he whispers.
"It's your daddy."
"Say hi for me" I say with a smile. We sit on my (our) bed and talk to baby for a while.

A few weeks go by and my baby bump is constantly growing. I look 6 months pregnant so I can't leave my house which is a pain. Every time Ed sees me he looks at face then my belly. He already is so fond of the baby. Cameron found a doctor, who is also a vampire, to give me an ultrasound. We are having a boy! We lay on our bed and contemplate different names while Cameron sits downstairs watching TV.
"What about Jamie?" He suggests.
"For a ginger? Nah" I say. He laughs.
"Alright, mason?" I smile widely.
"I think we have a winner.." I tell him. He hugs me tighter and places his hand on my stomach.
"Mason it is" everything is perfect. Blissful even.....Until the front door bursts open and the sound of angry footsteps and bloodthirsty screams sounds through the house. I scream and Ed picks me up.
"Baby what's going on?" I should of told him about the vampire. I'm an idiot.
"RUN ED!" I yell. The footsteps are heavy.
"Where are you Skyler!" An unfamiliar voice calls with a disgusting snarly tone. Ed runs downstairs.
"ED NO! ITS A VAMPIRE, HE WILL KILL YOU!" I scream, but it's to late. He's downstairs and standing before a large male with black hair and red eyes holding Cameron in the kitchen. Knife in his hand, Cam tries to stab the vampire but he can't.
"Nathan, please, stop" Cameron yells. I scream with terror as a quick motion from Nathan kills my best friend. I hear the snap of his neck and the thud of his body on the ground. Vampires can kill other vampires.
"Skyler run!" Ed calls as he turns and pulls me forward but the vampires too fast. He grabs Eds shoulders and pushes him down. I jump forward onto Nathan, pushing him off Ed. We both fall beside Ed and Nathan rolls me over and pins me down. His teeth are almost at my neck when I used my experienced strength to push him off. I grab the knife Cam was holding just as Nathan grabs Ed. I scream.
"No! Please don't hurt him!" I yell.
"Drop the knife." I do as he says. But it was stupid. He takes the knife and stabs Ed then runs at me. The knife pierces my stomach. Because inflicted by a vampire, I feel the pain. I fall to the ground screaming and once again am pinned down. But the crucial mistake he made cost him his life. I take the knife from my stomach that he mistakenly left behind and slice through his neck. Decapitation kills instantly. I push Nathan's headless body off mine and crawl to an almost lifeless Ed Sheeran.
"Ed, hunny, it's gunna be okay" but he just shakes his head.
"I'm a goner baby" before I know what I'm doing I bite his neck, infecting his blood.
