I miss Cameron. Quite a lot. Losing your Sire is like losing your father. Mason is growing rapidly. The growth of a kid who was born a vampire is strange. They age alot faster than humans, then when they become 16 they stop ageing altogether. I have learnt so much about vampires from Dan, who is studying them, and he is helping me and Ed become good parents to Mason. We had such little time to prepare and me and Ed have had to put our careers on hold to keep up with our son, who at 4 months old already looks 2. He even said his first word, which much to my disappointment was "daddy" and not mummy. And much to Eds disappointment, Mason has taken more of a liking to the horses than the cars. Ed took the koenigsegg for a spin last night and came back with the biggest grin on his face. Though I don't blame him.
I want so badly to tell my Uncle about Mason but he doesn't even know I'm a vampire. I don't think he would believe me.
Life isn't exactly simple at the moment but it's gotten easier since I told Ed about being a vampire and since I don't have to worry about Nathan popping out of nowhere. My thoughts are disrupted by the sound of Mason crying.
"Oh mason what did you do?" He is under 16 so he still feels pain but he cannot die under normal circumstances. He looks up at me from the ground where he lays, his knee scraped. I pick him up and run my fingers through his ginger hair.
"Shh sweetie it's okay." I say soothingly. His knee heals up after 5 minutes and his blue eyes stop leaking salty tears. Then he does the sweetest thing and puts his hands on my cheeks and kisses my nose. I giggle as he says a cute little thank you. He is so precious. Ed comes inside, covered in water, as I put mason on the ground by his toys.
"Ed, what are you doing?" I say.
"I was cleaning the car." I narrow my eyes at him.
"Which car?"
"The koenigsegg of course." I roll my eyes.
"Don't scratch my baby." I say.
"I would never scratch Mason!" He says picking up his son who says "daddy" multiple times as if to rub it in that he doesn't say mummy yet.
"You know what I meant Edward." I say. And so our life continues plainly for a while. Ed writes songs from home and I do the voice of a character in a new Disney movie. Mason continues to grow up."Mason! Stay out of Arrows stall!" I say from the tack room.
"But muuuuuuuuum" he says. His 8 year old (actually 16 months old) voice rings out through the stables. I hear Arrow kicking his stall door.
"Mason!"
"Mum!"
"No mason! That horse is unbroken. Go play with Dimitri." I say as our husky puppy Dimitri runs into the stables, his tongue flapping around wildly. He obeys and runs back up to the house. Seconds later his head pops around the corner into the tack room.
"Dan and Kennedy are here!" He says excitedly. I grin and follow him up to the house. We walk in the door and Ed is talking to Kennedy and Dan who are sitting at the bench. Kennedy stands up and gives me a hug. When she pulls away she holds onto my arms and grips them a little tight and says "we need to talk about something." I nod suspiciously.
"Mason, go play with Dimitri outside." I say. He shrugs and walks outside.
"What's wrong?" I say.
"We have been doing a lot of research on Vampires like Mason. Who died in the womb then came back to life. They call it deathtouch. It's very rare." Dan says. Ed looks at him confused.
"What does this mean?" He asks.
"It means he will be....unique. And powerful. First of all he's Sireless which is rare on it's own but to be death touched as well means his powers are going to be strong and hard to-" his sentence is cut short by a loud crash from downstairs where our cars are. We all run down and the sight before us makes us gasp.
"Mason....what happened!"******************
