Rebels. Vampire government rebels. If someone told me ten years ago that something like that had existed I would of told them "I'd get them the help they needed" because seriously, a group of vampires who rebel against the council who keep vampires hidden?
"We don't not agree with keeping vampires hidden" was part of the explanation I was given as to why we were dragged away from our wedding ceremony by vampires after a crazy dead guy who is like some sort of ruler of the afterlife with weird, powerful magic, came in uninvited.
"What we don't agree with is a group of fancy vampires in suits ruining our lives to keep us hidden." They knew everything. They knew about Mason and James and all the rest. This group were once a part of the council, thinking they would be doing the world good. Little did they know however that they would be sent out to tear families apart. So they left and now defend vampires like me and Ed and Mason.
Rikka, the girl who first revealed her fangs to me, is explaining everything. She seems to be leading this group...and eyeing up my son.
"So what now? The world saw James appear and disappear and threaten to kill everyone. That side of the world has been exposed. What now?" I ask Rikka. She smirks.
"We were ready. My men compelled everyone into thinking they didn't see a thing and that the ceremony is over. We covered the whole thing up so don't worry."
"That doesn't change the fact that James still intends to kill everyone."
"Intends. Doesn't mean he will." I sigh.
"He will. Revenge is sort of his thing." This time Rikka sighs.
"Not if we destroy him."
"He's already dead."
"Dead. Not destroyed." I frown. She's making no sense at all. Ed can see my frustration and wraps his arm around my waist pulling me closer, giving me a comforting warmth only he can bring. I take a deep breath.
"Okay. How do we destroy him then" Rikka grins.
"That's the fun part." She winks at Mason then walks up to him. His eyebrows raise at the approach of the not unattractive women.
"We use him." She says gesturing to Mason.
"What?" Me and Ed say at once.
"Here's the deal. James is powerful. He has dark magic. Magic of the dead. And Mason over here is death touched so he too has magic of the dead. Not only that but he knows how to use it. James is powerful but he's not a vampire like Mason. So this is what we do. We go to the dead world and destroy James. He isn't the only one there with authority and it just so happens that the other authorities are our connections. They get us in, help us find James, Mason destroys him, threat gone, everyone's happy. Not only will we save the vampires and human race but those in the afterlife who deserve peace and happiness will get it under the ruling of our...friends. An overthrow of James is what everyone in the afterlife wants but he forbid that any magic be practised in the after life so no one has succeeded. We will."
I let it sink in. I can see the plan in my head. All the hell I have been through was all James, with him gone forever I could live happily. Just me, Ed and Mason. I look up at Rikka then Mason.
"I don't know." Mason looks back at me.
"I can do it. I will do it." He says. I bite my lip.
"Okay. Tell us what you need" I say. Rikkas grin returns.
"Vampires and ghosts will fight for their freedom." She turns to her group. "Remember this moment everyone. Because we are making history"*************************************
Yay! Update! Rikka up top!
