Chapter 10

Gulf returned to San's apartment after freshening up. Though Mew came to drop him he forbade to come upstairs as San will doubt him.

"Look who's coming now.... You know you have to come home slut??"
"I..."
"What I? You've finally showed your true colours as a slut you are"
"What?? Wasn't it you who left me alone at the bar because of your girlfriend??" Suddenly Gulf bursted as he remembered what San's friends said.
San was successfully angered by Gulf now.
"You? How dare you? What do you think if I left from there you can whore around and I won't come to know?? My friends won't see if you hooked up with some unknown guy? Or you thought they wouldn't tell me??"

Gulf eyes widened in shock. Sure enough those jerks falsely accused him before he returned. Now what should he say?? He didn't have proof so he couldn't say anything.

Gulf didn't realize he was staring at San as he was thinking deeply. This angered San more. Suddenly pah!!! San slapped Gulf who was dumbfounded.
"What? Now you can glare at me bitch??"
Gulf didn't say a word in his defence.
"Get out of my sight right now" shouted San.
Little did they know someone saw the whole thing. Mew went upstairs as Gulf forgot his wallet in his car. He thought he would find an excuse in front of San and quietly gives back the wallet cause it's important. What he didn't expect is he can find the reason behind Gulf's bruises. His brother,his idol.... He hit Gulf. He didn't think it in his wildest dreams. He just quietly left from there leaving Gulf's wallet on the table.

Mew couldn't believe what he saw. So he started investigating where it went wrong. He found out about Puifai and how his father forced San to marry Gulf destroying 3 lives. He felt anger towards his father and blamed him for all the sufferings Gulf was facing. He vowed to save those lives and reunite the lovers. Somewhere in his heart he was happy knowing San and Gulf didn't love each other as he now could get a chance to pursue Gulf. Yes in these days he understood he didn't have only feelings of admiration or physical attraction  for Gulf, his feelings were much more deeper. And he decided to give his feelings a chance.

After much thought Mew called Gulf  for having lunch together. Gulf gladly accepted as he liked to spend time with Mew. He didn't think it was wrong as Mew was an escape from his painful torturous life.

When Gulf entered the restaurant booked by Mew he was already sitting there. A smile automatically crept on Gulf's face.
"Hey did you wait for long?"
"Not at all. Come sit"
Mew dragged his chair like a gentleman he is. Gulf smiled at him and sat down.

"Did you order already??"
"No I was waiting for you. Let's order now."

After ordering Mew asked Gulf how was he doing.
"Just fine."
"Gulf I've a question for you. Will you answer honestly?"
Gulf had a bad hunch about this.
"Su-sure"
"Do you know Puifai??"
Gulf's eyes widened. His reaction answered Mew's question.
"Then why Gulf?"
"Why what?"
"Why did you marry him? Why are you even tolerating this marriage??"
"None of your concern."
Mew was clearly annoyed by this answer. But he took deep breath to calm himself down.
"Look Gulf I'm saying that cause I care for you. Why are you even being a third party in this?"
"Oh so you called me today cause you thought me as the obstacle in your brother's life... So you can reunite them after removing this third party right??"

Mew understood his words sounded so wrong and that hurt Gulf badly.

"No Gulf I didn't mean that. I saw phi hitting you. I never thought those bruises... Were because of my phi. You are really hurting in this marriage."

Gulf smiled sadly.
"Do you think I don't know that?? Imagine you learnt just before your engagement that your partner loves someone else. I never wanted to continue this wedding but I was helpless. I can't hurt my parents even unintentionally. Besides p'Fai requested me to take care of p'San. I know they are together despite our marriage but still I remain quiet cause they love each other."

"Gulf..."
"Don't pity me p'Mew. It's the last thing I wanna get from you."
"No Gulf I'm not pitying you. Do you know you are the strongest and kindest person I've ever met??"
Gulf blushed at the compliment. The waiter came to serve the dishes so they stopped talking. After the waiter left Mew asked, "so what do you plan to do in the future??"
"Nothing"
"But you will never be happy in this marriage"
"I'll know. But I can't divorce him cause it will hurt my parents. And I don't know why he won't divorce me. So I would just endure like the past months."
"Gulf that's not a solution... It's about your whole life and you deserve to be happy. I will talk to p'San."
"Please don't... Your brother will kill me. He said if anybody gets a slight hint he would make me suffer."
"No no my phi isn't like that. Maybe he was really angry so he said that. He didn't mean that."

Gulf knew Mew loved his brother too much. Even if he knew everything he would still find excuses to defend his brother. So he didn't say anything but was persistent not to let San know anything. Mew finally had to agree with Gulf but reluctantly.

After lunch they decided to go for a stroll. While walking Gulf suddenly said, "p'Mew you know I am really lucky to marry p'San."
Those words stung Mew's heart. Even after everything Gulf still loves p'San.
"Why?" He asked in a shaky voice.
"Cause I met someone so caring like you. If I didn't marry him I would never find a friend like you."
Though Mew didn't wanna be only friend with Gulf, he was happy Gulf was acknowledging his presence in his life. That was enough for him for now.
