The smile on Shatrugan brightened when their guru had announced that classes would be cancelled for the week. His face shone with mischief which made Bharat baiyya stare at him sternly. Only he knew how to handle those bursts of excitement. Now Shatrughan could finally concentrate on the little paint work he was doing.

After all the other students dispersed from the classroom, Ram wondered when he could see his Kaikai maa again. The day they left, she had felt so miserable and would miss them so much. He gently stroked Lakshman's hair who now just walked silently behind him.

So much of his brothers had changed in these 4 years. They had left to Gurukul when they were 4. Ram couldn't help but wonder if his parents had changed drastically too. Suddenly he realised that he'd stopped. Now he started day dreaming like his Bharat too!

"Come lets go baiyya", Lakshman spoke, his voice nuteral. His Lakshman was so different now. There were only one expression he reciprocated.  That was anger. He wouldn't be kind to those who went against his brother. Ram knew very well, his brother's heart was as soft as butter inside. He tried his best to mask it but failed miserably when somebody spoke against Ram. Ram said a calm yes and went ahead.

By the time they reached the hut, they could clearly see Shatrughan's no more 'very little' hands covered fully in paint and Bharat's nose buried under a book. Ram would at this point of time be practicing his sword skills with Lakshman but the summer heat wanted otherwise. So he went and sat next to Shatrugan, watching him dab the fine wood with paint. He was doing a very beautiful scenery and Ram just realised he was painting the city of Ayodhya. Those blue memories came back to him and he felt a sudden sense of nostalgia.  Lakshman held his hands firmly as tears brimmed from his eyes.

Their happy little moments were disturbed by some noise outside. Who could it be?

Ram asked Lakshman to go check and he responded with a quick nod and left.

Shatrugan finished his price and handed it over to Ram baiyya. He ran and dragged Bharat baiyya to see it as well.  As they were admiring the young man's work, they heard Lakshman shout.
