Elsa was born in the Dark Kingdom during the winter solstice of 1825. Gothel looked down at her and smiled. Looking back up at Pitch, she said "Oh isn't she just a darling! She'll make quite the queen someday~" He smiled and looked down at Elsa. "Oh yes she will." she grabbed Pitch's hand and he looked back at Gothel, taken off guard. "Her hand, it's so cold." He took away his hand and saw little ice crystals in his palm. Elsa giggled and lifted her hand up, and snow shot up into the sky. Pitch and Gothel looked at Elsa, then at each other. "Well, I suppose that explains why she's so cold."

(Due to her magic, Elsa's body temperature is always very cold)

Elsa spent the first few years of her life fairly normally. There was a slight issue with her powers as she got older. Naturally, the older she got, the more her powers developed. When she was first learning to walk, she struggled quite a bit. Her magic kept reacting unintentionally. When she would try to take a step, ice would shoot out of her feet. It made it very hard for her to develop like a normal child. Pitch and Gothel tried very hard to help her, but with Elsa being so young, it is hard for her to understand how to control her magic. As she got older, it became easier. It took her until she was about six years old to almost be able to walk without accidentally shooting ice out of her feet.

Around the time she turned six, Elsa got a new baby sister. Anna was born and they were now a family of four. Shortly after Anna was born, her parents noticed that she wasn't like Elsa. She was a human. The darkness of their kingdom was to much for her, and her heart was beginning to fail. Pitch and Gothel decided not to tell Elsa about Anna's issues, because she was to young to understand, and to let Anna rest and potentially get better.

Elsa didn't listen to them. She tried to sneak into Anna's room to see her, but her magic acted out, causing her to fall over with a loud crash. Pitch came through the shadows and saw her on the floor. "Elsa, what are you doing on the floor? Are you alright?" "I'm fine!" she got up quickly, but her knees and hands were scrapped up. Pitch looked down at her knees and frowned. "are you sure?" "Yep!" Elsa began to walk to him, but her powers blasted her towards the ground again. Pitch ran towards her and caught her just before she hit the floor. "What's going on Elsa?" he asked as he brushed her hair out of her face. Elsa frowned and looked down. "I wanna see Anna!" Pitch sighed. "You know you can't see her. Anna needs her rest. Now, go get ready for bed. We'll try some more walking tomorrow." he stood her back up and walked away back through the shadows. Elsa thought for a moment, then proceeded to walk into Anna's room. She went up to the cradle where Anna was sleeping. She was so small, and she was barely breathing. Elsa put one of her hands over Anna's heart and closed her eyes, focusing on both their heartbeats. Soon they were both strong and in sync. Elsa opened her eyes and saw a yellow glow from her hand. Anna looked up at her and started to laugh. Elsa then saw her parents running into the room. They looked at Elsa, then at Anna, and then back at Elsa. Her hands where still glowing. Pitch took her hands and took a closer look at them, while Gothel went to Anna. Pitch sent Elsa back to her room to sleep, and told Gothel his theory. "I think she has healing magic." "How do you figure?" "Simple, her hands weren't glowing when I saw her earlier, and suddenly Anna is doing better and Elsa's hands are glowing. Following basic logic, it only makes sense." he explained. "I suppose, but have you ever seen someone with more than one natural power? Don't you think this could potentially be just some type of stress induced ability she's formed? Who's to say it won't just go away by tomorrow?" Gothel questioned. They talked it over for a while, and decided not to dwell on it any further. Something they did agree on was that Anna could no longer live with them in the Dark Kingdom. She couldn't survive in the shadows, and Elsa's powers were to new to rely on. They wrapped Anna up in a blanket, put her in a basket, attached a note, and Pitch used his fear sand to send her to a nearby kingdom called Arendelle. King Agnarr and Queen Iduna received the basket containing Anna and instantly adopted her. Anna now was safe in Arendelle and would never know of her home land in the Dark Kingdom.
