It was dinner time in apartment 204, (y/n) and her moms were sitting at the table. (y/n) stared down at her plate full of food. Just thinking about eating made her feel sick. She looked at her moms who were already looking at her, waiting for their favorite (and only) child to start eating.
“I-I’m not h-hungry.”
Hailey’s kind and gentle smile dropped into a frown.
“You say that every night, Bunny. We haven’t seen you actually eat in days.”
“I e-eat. I eat a-a l-lot.”
Sarah shook her head sadly.
“You eat a little and then go days, sometimes weeks, before you eat again.”
(y/n) looked down and played with the sleeves of her flannel.
“Your mother and I have been talking, and we decided that it would be best if you go to a therapist.”
“Wh-why?”
(y/n) watched as her mom pulled at her hair, making some strands fall out of the tight ponytail she always had.
“You obviously need help! You used to be so much happier, and now you’re hurting and starving yourself! We just want you to go back to being happy.”
(y/n) bit her lip and looked down. Her mother’s words cut through her like burning knives.
“I-I’m u-uh, I’m g-gonna g-go to bed e-e-early tonight.” (y/n) said while holding in her tears.
She stood up from the table and walked to her room, closing the door behind her. She didn’t bother to get into her bed, instead she sat down on the floor. She let her tears fall. She covered her mouth and sobbed into it, her tears wetting the carpet she sat on. She leaned forward and rested her forehead on the floor.
She stayed like that until she fell asleep.
