From then on when people asked, we said we were dating. It was a natural thing. We'd come to a consensus one night when he'd officially asked me to be his girlfriend. It wasn't anything special, but it made the both of us happy. We spent so much time together anyways.

His confidence around me sky rocketed. When I'd first met him, up until recent, he had been more timid, but now that he held the title of my boyfriend, he seemed to act more confidently.

"Well if it isn't my lovely girlfriend!" He would exclaim every time I entered his bakery with his coffee. Without fail, he would always say something of the sorts, and I have to admit, it really did fluster me.

This went on for about two years. We went through a lot. Little tiny spats and arguments, our first kiss, and many other things.

Our first kiss was something else. Very awkward. It reflected both of our personalities. It was quite sudden as well. Very out of nowhere.

It happened when I brought him his coffee. I had been talking about a new book I'd just started reading and he'd been looking at me so contently with his soft eyes, and then he just blurted it out of nowhere.

A raindrop hits the water.

"Can I kiss you?"

Needless to say, I was surprised, but it was very characteristic of him to ask for consent. He was a gentleman like that. He even waited for me to specifically verbalize that he could, indeed kiss me.

It causes a ripple.

There were plenty more after that, and they were definitely less awkward.
