"WHAT?"

a few birds flew as a loud scream was heard. Her mother was quick to shush her to make an attempt to calm her down.

"Alright calm down, honey-"

"How am I supposed to be calm when this is the first time I've met my mother and she tells me I'm a princess?!" Y/n said out loud with her widened eyes.

"I know this can be overwhelming. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to explain right now. Who knows who might show up here because of me, so may I please tell you some information and give you the details later?"

"Fine," Y/n grumbled. It annoys her that she can't get an explanation of anything. She feels completely in the dark.

"Okay, so as I said before I need you to come to the Kingdom. There, you'll be trained as a princess and get married. Soon after, you'll become the next Queen."

"What? Why? Can't I marry anyone I like?"

"Usually yes, but we need you to be crowned as soon as possible, so we picked someone for you."

"Well, Why do I-"

"I'll answer these questions when you're at the castle. Now, go ahead and get packed."

"We're leaving right now?"

"More like this weekend-"

"No! I don't want to leave yet! I still have school and friends I know. Can we extend it for longer?"

"Till when?"

"End of December. The end of the semester. That should be enough time."

Her mother thought to herself. She wanted her daughter to be there as soon as possible to get used to her new life. She also wanted to make sure her and her new husband get along, and who knows how long it will take. The Prince of Japan has always been known as a little devil. More time would be better, but she can tell her daughter isn't going to let that happen. She sighed,

"You're just as stubborn as your father. Alright fine. You have until the end of December. As soon as you finish your last exam, you'll be on a plane to Belgium, understood?"

"Yes. Thank you."

"I'm afraid I have to go," her mother said getting up from the table. "Tell your father I say thank you."

Her mother went around the table and gently hugged her daughter. Y/n didn't know how to react at first because she thought her mom never felt anything for her since she seemed all about business when Y/n came to the table, but now it seems different. Y/n hugged her back, nuzzling her face close to her mother. Even with so many emotions flowing through her, she couldn't help but appreciate this moment between her and her mom. This moment brought tears to her eyes. Her mother pulled away with a soft smile on her face.

"I'll miss you again. See you soon, my child."

Y/n gently waved as her mother walked to the door. Her mom opened it, but before she went through, she turned her head to Y/n.

"And don't tell anyone what I have told you today. The only exception are those close to you, but wait a little bite before telling them. You have a lot to think about and a lot to pack."

With that, her mother left. Y/n stood there for a moment recalling everything her mother explained not even five minutes ago. Her mind boggled with so many thoughts. She didn't know if she should be upset because she is leaving and just found out about this now or sad because she's leaving everyone in her hometown behind. She sighed before walking inside with her head hung low. Her father must have taken notice.

"She told you, didn't she?" her father said.

Y/n could only nod in response. There was a moment of silence before Y/n asked, "Why didn't you tell me?"

Her father looked down slightly ashamed, "I wanted you to live a normal life without having to hide yourself. Plus who knows what kind of people you could've encountered if everyone here knew you're a princess."

Y/n smiled weakly, understanding her father wanted what was best for her. She really is going to miss him.

"I guess I should go start packing..." she said to excuse herself. Her father didn't say anything as she walked upstairs to her room. Once the door was closed, she jumped onto her bed. She laid there, pondering everything that has happen and what might possibly happen in the future. She groaned as it was frustrating her. She has to leave home, say bye to her friends, and marry someone she hasn't met and start a new life. Her life went casual to unrealistic in the matter of seconds. A certain ringtone took her mind off of what she was thinking as her new focus was the phone. She glanced at the caller ID and picked up the phone when she read her best friend's name.

"Hello?"

"Hey Y/n! Do you want to hang out in our spot soon?"

"Yeah! I'd love that. What time?"

"How about twenty minutes. I got a few things to do before leaving the house."

"Gotcha! See you there!"

"Bye!" her best friend cheered before ending the call.

It was nice to get her mind off of what just happened. Maybe spending time with her friend will keep her brain occupied. Although she does have to tell her best friend at some point...was this the best time? She doesn't have much time since she is leaving in December. Maybe it's better to tell her sooner rather than later.
