Expect the Unexpected (Prince Karma x reader)

Chapter 4

       Y/n staying on her bed for about ten minutes before she had the motivation to get ready. She put on some comfortable clothing that was also warm since winter is around the corner. While getting ready, Y/n couldn't stop pondering what her best friend's reaction would be. Would she be shocked? Sad? Angry? It gave her a headache thinking about it. She shook it off before grabbing her phone and keys and heading out the door. She briefly told her father about her meet up with BSF/N. Her father told her to be safe and not be out for too long. She nodded before going out the door and walking to the place where they would always hang out together.
When they were children, Y/n and BSF/N would always pass by this flower field with this huge tree and grassy area next to it. They didn't get to visit in person until two years ago, and since then it's been their favorite place to hang out. They loved laying in the tree branches, wandering through the flower field, and at times have picnics. This place was their little get away, but it wasn't just that. This place brought them back together when something happened to either of them. They'd come here to make up if they had an argument, take a break from stress, and when one of them was going through something. This plain place will always be their spot.
The spot wasn't very far because both friends would pass by it on their way home. It didn't take Y/n long to arrive and when she did, she didn't see BSF/N there. She looked at her phone to see if she was running late until she heard,

"Up here!"

Y/n looked up to see her best friend in the tree. She smiled before climbing up to see her. Once she was up, she sat on a thick branch, leaving back so her back as against the truck of the tree.

"So what's the reason you called me here? Something wrong?" Y/n asked, making sure her friend is okay.

"Nope. Everything is fine. It's just we haven't been here in a while since we've both been caught up in school," her friends giggled.

"Well, you aren't wrong," Y/n giggled with her.

       A moment of peaceful silence was between them as they looked through branches and admired the blue sky. It was nice to have a relaxing moment with her friend especially when the news from earlier clouded her head. She began thinking maybe she should tell them now. That was her original plan, but she doesn't want to ruin the moment. Unfortunately it's now or never. December is around the corner.

"Um...BSF/N?" she began.

Her friend hummed in response, signaling that they were listening.

"I have something to say..."

"Go ahead and say it. You know I'm all ears."

"Well...uh..." Y/n hesitated. Her nerves stuck upon her as she was nervous to admit the news. She didn't want to ruin things with her best friend and she didn't want to upset her either. She shook her head as she knew she had to say it now. She took a deep breath. "To put it in simpler terms...I won't be here after this semester..."

Her best friend sat up and looked at her shocked and confused, "What do you mean? Are you switching schools?"

"Not exactly...It's more like...moving to another country..."

"This is a joke right? You're joking! Come on this isn't funny!"

Y/n shook her head, "I'm not joking..."

"Seriously?! But why? Why all of a sudden where are you even going? We were supposed to celebrate senior year together!" they screamed as they were freaking out.

"I know you have so many questions that I have to answer, and some of them I can answer because I don't know that much information myself...I was just told about this this afternoon..."

"Well what happened?" they asked in a rather angry tone which made Y/n frightened to explain.

"I...um...well, my mother came to see me today-"

"Your mother?! After all these years-"

"Please let me finish!"

       There was a moment of silence before Y/n apologized and began explaining everything.

"So my mom came to visit, and it turns out she is the Queen of Belgium. She said I am going to be the next queen and I have an arranged marriage. She wanted to take me sooner, but I pushed it until after midterms so I can at least say goodbye and enjoy my last moments here before I'm taken to...I don't even know where. I'm guessing she is going to be taking me to the castle and train me as a princess before I get crowned and get married."

"She really left you with barely any information."

"And some overwhelming information too. I grew up as your average next door girl. There is no way I'm going to be a perfect princess within weeks."

"And knowing how clumsy and stubborn you are, you're for sure going to give them a hard time." BSF/N laughed as Y/N made a grump face.

Y/n's face softened. Her friend seemed pissed off at first, but now she seems completely okay with it. "Are you sure this is okay with you?"

"Don't get me wrong, I'm mad at the fact that you're leaving, but it isn't your fault so there is no reason for me to be mad at you. If I have to be mad at anyone, it should be your mom."

Y/n smiled as she reached over and hugged her friend. BSF/N gladly returned the hug before gently pulling away.

"Now, let's make this last month memorable. It's going to be a while before I can see you again," BSF/N said.

"What if you don't see me again."

"Oh you know I will."

The two laughed before laying down again and looking up. It wasn't long until both of them had to leave for schoolwork and Y/n had to begin packing. They said their goodbyes and hugged one last time before heading home.

HAHAHAHA IM ALIVE!!!

       Im so sorry for not posting this sooner. I got really lazy over my small break and did some stuff for school anyways bc my teachers loving giving constant work. :))
anyways i'm planning on writing a small thanksgiving special next chapter, and honestly i'm excited for that.
       anyways i hope you liked this chapter. i had so many ideas for it but i love how it turned out. i originally was planning on having her friend be mad at her for like most of the book and make up at the end, but i didn't want to bring any angst so soon soooo here you go. I'm going to try and upload the special tonight, but we'll see hahaha. Be safe!! Happy thanksgiving!!
