               ✨thanksgiving special
(Part I)

Y/n was finally off for a week break, and she was happy to finally relax. Even if it's her last year, school has been nothing but stress and now she has the chance to take a break. Y/n relaxed over the weekend either laying in bed or perusing one of her hobbies. She then received a phone call from an unknown number. She declined it, thinking it was a spam call until the same number called again. She decided to pick it up to see who it is.

"Hello?"

"Hi Sweetie! It's your mom."

"Mom? How did you get my number?"

"Your father gave it to me. So I'm coming down soon for thanksgiving! I hope to celebrate it with you and your future husband."

"WAIT WHAT?!"

"Sweetie, you know you have to meet your future husband at some point."

"I know I just didn't expect it to be so soon."

"You'll be fine. I'll be there with you!"

"I barely know you."

"That was hurtful! Anyways, I'll be there tomorrow. Do you have anything nice to wear?"

"Um, I don't know. Dad and I barely went to anything fancy. Usually I'd wear a blouse and pants. The only time I wore dresses was when I went to a school dance."

"Oh sweet chocolate," her mother whispered to herself before speaking into the phone once again. "Alright, I'll be there tomorrow morning by nine. You better be ready. We have a full day of shopping.

Before Y/n had the chance to respond her mother said a quick goodbye before hanging up. It sounded like she was busy on the other end because she heard some muffled talking before her mom hung up. Y/n sighed before face planting into her bed. She pouts as she wonders how hectic her shopping day is going to be.

The day passed by in seconds and before she knew it her alarm went off the next morning. Y/n is typically the kind of person who would sleep in and refuse to get up after the first alarm. She checked her phone before seeing that she slept past most of her alarms. If she didn't get moving, she was going to be late. She scrambled out of bed and immediately went to her closet to pick out her outfit for today. Once she figured out what she was going to wear, she ran into the bathroom to shower and freshen up.

As soon as she is dressed she heard a knock on the door. Her eyes widened as she realized that was most likely her mom. she quickly put on some light make up and grabbed her things before rushing downstairs. When she was downstairs she saw her mother sitting on the couch.

"You're late," she stated.

"Only by a few seconds," Y/n said, breathing heavily. She felt like she ran a mile after running throughout the house to get ready.

"Did you eat?"

Y/n shook her head. She didn't really mind skipping breakfast. Sometimes she wasn't hungry in the mornings, but unfortunately for her she was craving something this morning.

"Heads up!" her father yelled, grabbing Y/n's attention. Her dad threw a granola bar and she caught it before it would fly past her. Her mother shook her head while Y/n unwrapped it and took a bite. Her mother stood up and gently grabbed Y/n's wrist to take her outside. Y/n said bye to her father before being dragged out the door. Her mother released her grip once they were outside. Y/n took this as an opportunity to finish her granola bar.
