"Excuse me, can you take those out of class? '' Quinley removed her earphones and slammed them on the desk. "Sure, but i'm going to put them back in if this class gets any more boring" she sighed under her breath. She looked at her reflection on the computer. Her blonde hair tied in a ponytail and her nose stud that reflected back at her. Quinley was extremely smart but her attitude scared off  anyone who crossed paths. She envied the new girl who sat on the other side of the room. Eve. Miss knows it all. Quietly tapped her foot on the floor out of habit and her mood quickly picked up as the bell rang.

Not a second out of the doorway when Eve grabbed her shoulder. It made Quinley jump.

"Sorry i didn't mean to scare you" Her accent caught Quinley off guard. "But I was wondering if you wanted to sit with me at lunch. I noticed you don't eat lunch in the cafe" Eve exclaimed. She usually ate lunch in the library on her phone or didn't eat at all. She has a few close friends but never has she been asked to sit lunch with someone

"Uh sure, I guess, Who are you again" as Quinley sat down at the table Eve led her two.

"Oh shoot sorry, I'm Evelyn but I go by Eve, I just moved here.

"From london? I recognize your accent" Quinely had been to London many times, her dad lived there but she never liked it. She was about to ask Eve why she wanted her to sit with her when Ivy Goldrin and Owen Waters sat down. She knew Ivy as a childhood friend but never in her life had she seen the boy next to her.

"Guys this is Quinley" Eve said and began to pull out her lunch.

"Hey Q, glad you're sitting with us" Ivy smiled. Quinley rolled her eyes as she remembered why her and Ivy split but she would rather not talk about it. She mostly sat staring at the wall as the other three immersed into their conversations. Every now and then she would be brought out of her thoughts to Eve talking to her. Even though she wouldn't admit it she enjoyed the company and it felt nice.

1 months later~

Eve and Luke studied a couple times that month but with the exam approaching but Eve knew that Luke was nowhere ready. He had just been so stubborn that they had been able to get anything done. Eve was ready to be done with this idea because it was wasting her time. But the voice in the back of her head told her to help Luke. She didn't necessarily like Luke but despised him for his cocky attitude. Eve decided she would do one more tutoring session as a last chance for Luke.

The day came and Eve knew Luke would show up late once again. But to her demise he was sitting at the library table before her. He had a sluggish look and dark circles under his eyes. His palm rested under his chin as he stared at the wall. Eve sat down across from him jerking him out of his daze.

"Ready? The Exam is in three weeks and you haven't done anything" Eve sighed

"Ok fine" but his tone was tried and almost like he was going to pass out. She noticed it but said nothing as she wanted to get out of here ASAP.

They studied with the lack of energy from Luke. He seemed to be doing better but still not up to the standards. This annoyed her, she was going out of her way for him. Not that she would admit it but she didn't entirely hate it. A part of her enjoyed being with him

She sighed "Ok what's wrong? You have no energy and you seem depressed"

"I'd say it's none of your business" he spat out, taking Eve by surprise. She studied his face but scoffed. She hated that Luke was wasting her time and was lurking to walk out that door.

"Jezz someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed" she laughed to herself but Luke didn't find it all that funny. It was clearly sarcastic and not hurtful in any way.

"You know what! Not everyone has such an easy time and school like you, miss knowing it all. So drop the act you're not that tough." he yelled a bit too loud for the library. But Eve sat wide eyed at him for a few seconds. He slumped back into his chair and exhaled sharply.

"I'm just trying to help you" it came out in a faint voice she didn't expect to get yelled at by him.

"well honestly I dread being here, it's not fun and it's stressful. You have no idea what happens outside and this isn't the only thing i have going on." He spat back, Home was difficult to say the least and Eve had everything.

"I never said i did '' She looked down in hate. She had no idea what was going on with him. Usually he was charming, calling her by her full name and giving her regards that were amusing. But now, goodness she would have expected Quinley to act like this.

"Well you have everything and you won't-" he was cut off by her.

"Actually don't, you know some of us can't wear expensive lathering outfits, I mean have you ever worn the same outfit twice? Don't you notice that your life isn't the only messed up one? Clearly you don't. I go out of my way to help you and you're just the stereotypical stuck up boy with fine knitted sweaters and fashioned ironed down jeans. I'm done for the day.

Eve had no interest in being here anymore and quickly grabbed her books, shoved them into her bag with force and stormed out of the library. She didn't even hear Luke call her name. She was already gone. She didn't know what came up with her then. She noticed that Luke always looked clean and prepared. And more so she envied him. That would be the last time she helped Luke, he was on his own now.
