Just the beginning

It rained a lot, more than usual considering it was early November. Eve hadn't gone to school at all these past two weeks. Apparently she had been really sick. "Just a common cold" about five doctors had told her.

The faintist worry circled around in the back of her head, but she would brush it off. She told herself it was just stress, her parents were fighting. More and more and she didn't understand why.

They were usually happy but something came up and her father looked even more drained after every outburst that echoed through the house. She tried suffocating her ears under her pillow or playing music at top volume just to drain out the sound.

The day she was finally feeling better she came back to school. Not willingly but her mother practically threw her out the door. The only thing she had managed to plan that morning was to bring an umbrella. Her book bag wasn't even full and she noticed that as she walked. It was early, too soon for her to be back.

Sluggish much as she walked through the halls, she got weird looks  from the irritated red marks under her eyes and the baggy sweatshirt. She ignored them, she was really looking forward to seeing everyone at lunch. Although she would get swallowed by questions and demanding answers.

She was right. But the thing she least Expected was Luke sitting at the table. she chuckled under her breath this had to be a joke. He usually sits with his quote on quote popular friends. Why would he be sitting with them?

Ivy noticed her first and jumped up from her table surrounding her in the tightest hug. She let out a gasp in shock. She was only gone for at least a week, did they think she was dead!

"Since when do you sit here now?' She questioned him and also gave ivy a glance as she glared at him.

"Since I quit football." he rolled his eyes, giving her a quick glance. Not to be mean but she looked like hell.

She didn't question him and sat down next to Quinley and gave her hand a squeeze. She wasn't anywhere near hungry so she sipped on her diet Coke while Ivy and Owen showered her with questions. Exhausting to say the least

"I didn't feel good that's it!" she snapped and immediately covered her mouth. Sweet Eve wasn't the one to snap back at you, but today was different. The questions subsided after that.

The day went extremely slow but she was ready to go home. Oh wait no she wasn't. The fighting never stopped for a week giving her body jolts from sleeping. She didn't really get any sleep and that didn't help her appearance.

*This next part is just a little idea of what happened after Ivy went to Owens so if you need a recap read the park again! Enjoy.

The warmth of his house scooped her up like a tornado. A feeling she hadn't felt in awhile.

She Was immediately brought in and surrounded by concerned glances and raised voices. I mean what did she expect her legs are bleeding and she is crying, Non-Stop.

Owens mother brought her in without a hesitant shuffle.  set up her bed in the spare bedroom and told her she was welcome to stay as long as she wanted.

she felt welcomed and she felt loved even just for a couple days this is what she needed.

Not even near after an hour of her arrival coincided on the end of her bed. She could tell something was wrong so she quickly sat up.

"Is everything ok?' she asked him and rubbed her tired eyes.

"No, it's not Ivy '' He told her, "My mother is on anti-depressents, and she's been taking them a lot. I first saw the bottles weeks ago but tonight i noticed more bottles and less pills" he told her in a hollow voice.

"I thought she was always happy." he faintly told her. As she wrapped his arms around him. It helped, yes it very much did. He felt as though 500 pound weights were lifted off his shoulders.

So low and behold Owens life wasn't so perfect after all.

They talked the rest of the night. Small conversations and he asked about why she left her house. She told him more than she told Eve.

*Now were going back to Eve! Thats mostly all the flashbacks that are going to happen now, The plot thickens stay tunned!

She entered her house after a long day and immediately entered into a fighting arena. Verbal only but it was like her ears were stabbing themselves. Had her parents done this all day.

They usually never fought and were happy but all of the sudden they were at each others throats every hour on the day.

She walked into her room and threw her pillow over her face to muffle the loud voices. She was so tired that she fell alseep right away.

Finally peace.

Sincerely, the girl who loved you back.Where stories live. Discover now
