[LEVI]
"Erwin Smith!" As the principal called out his name, a booming cheer started to form around the auditorium like a weak explosion. Everyone was clapping their hands loudly before petering out completely. Silent.
There goes the goody two shoes yet again. Winning the Top Student Award for three years in a fucking row. Despite having to accomplish such awards, his face was calm and collected. His icy blue eyes were not amused by the cheer that the students gave him.
Fucking hell, Smith. He's still the discerning, intelligent and widely respected boy as he has always been. Can't you give that position to somebody else?
"Damn. I lowkey wanna be friends with that guy." Furlan pointed out of the blue. I gave him an immobile look and he grinned sheepishly in return.
"Yeah, same. Plus, he's kinda good looking too." This time, it was Isabel. I watched her face in confusion but it was quite hard to read her statement. Is she for real? Erwin Smith? Good looking?
"And maybe with his help, we can get to be Top Student as well." Furlan continued to bring out the good in that blond male. I sighed in annoyance and stopped the conversation before it gets any further.
I groaned. "Can we stop talking about that brat? Look at him." I ordered as I pointed my finger somewhere in the crowd. Both of them followed the direction and saw Erwin.
"He looks so bored out of his mind like he wanted to end his own life any minute now."
"Well, maybe we can ask him to join our friend group and show him that there's more in life than just studying." Furlan beamed with that dumb suggestion and that he just gave. He looked so proud about it too.
Furlan, or Furlan Church is usually depicted as level-headed and calm but sometimes this bitch can be a pain in the ass and too positive. He always looks at the bright side of everything but he has a clear understanding of when he's defeated, and stopped resisting if he knew that he had lost.
That's what I like most about him. He thought me that life can be hard from time to time and it's okay to give up. Well, in that case I'm not gonna even bother trying.
"Yeah, maybe we should do that!" Isabel agreed as she nodded her head repeatedly.
Isabel Magnolia on the other hand is an energetic ball of sunshine and confident in her studies yet her class is just above us so that means she's just like me and Furlan. Dumb. She's also quite headstrong for a girl. I'm still surprised on how she ended up with me and Furlan. Looking at her personality, there's no way I could accept her as her friend in another universe.
But now here I am. Stuck with two small brain motherfuckers that wanted to be friends with the smartest student in school. That would be merely impossible since a guy like Erwin Smith would never accept us as his companion.
At last, the principal dismissed the gathering and all of us went to our class. Me and Furlan were in the same class so we parted ways with Isabel and promised her to meet during lunch time.
Our class began to fill with classmates and I sat at my given spot at the back of the classroom besides Furlan. Not long after that, the math teacher, Mrs. Petra Ral entered the class.
We all greeted her and sat back down when she asked us too. The woman is short, maybe the same height as me with strawberry blonde hair and brown eyes. Don't get you slipping now, she may look young but in fact, she's an old hag.
She cleared her throat before beginning the two hours of cruelty. And by cruelty, I mean y=mx + b. Yeah, what the fuck is that? I didn't ask to multiply words. Math stopped making any sense after 7th grade I swear to god.
