[LEVI]

I didn't quite compute on what was written on the whiteboard. Doing this stupid equation on a bland and indolent autumn evening was the worst idea ever created in this universe. No, John. I did not find your X whatsoever. Furlan wasn't by my side complaining about how his weekend went because he decided to skip school for today. He texted me saying he was not feeling very well and wanted a day off but I knew for a fact he was playing video games and binge watched movies all night while eating junk food.

Furthermore, don't get me started on yesterday. It was horrible. I put the risk of my bond with Isabel on the line and I didn't know how to fix it. Yet she was being a judgmental arsehole and someone needed to play devil's advocate there. Or maybe I was so fucking stupid because her words hit too close to the bone.

"Hey, Levi." Someone whispered on my left and I immediately leaped away the thoughts. It was Oluo. To be honest, I never really acknowledged his existence. In other words, he's not important in my life. Despite being the same age as any of us, he had more wrinkles and looked a lot more older than Mrs. Petra who was around 30 years old.

"What do you want, bastard?" I spat. He pointed at my notes with his parched lips and my brows creased. My goodness, this is why we should always stay hydrated.

"Can I see your notes? I can't see what's on the whiteboard since Mrs. Petra is blocking the view."

I rolled my eyes and replied, "No."

He frowned. "Please. Just for one second?"

"I said, no." I repeated, he mouth dropped in a dramatic way. "Fuck off."

"Gosh, Levi." He huffed. "You're so mean! No wonder why you have no friends and everybody hates you-"

The next thing I knew, Oluo bit his tongue due to his unpreventable clumsiness. His eyes turned white and I could've sworn I saw his soul coming out from his body. He dropped his pen and winced in pain. I just stared at him, unamused. Stuff like this happened normally and I wished he added something new like, biting the tongue clean off or something pleasing to the eye.

I raised my hand and everyone shot me a look, including Mrs. Petra who was busy reading questions in the text book. She smiled warmly, "Yes, Levi?"

"Oluo bit his tongue yet again, Mrs. Petra."

This was followed by a laughter because we're in high school, which meant we're predictable and almost everything was hilarious. Oluo was still shaking hysterically, mumbling some blether about how excruciating it was. I scoffed in annoyance. He's overreacting once again.

"Oh, Lord." Mrs. Petra shrieked and rushed towards Oluo. She kneeled down, reaching his level and raised his chin gently. The class' attention turned to the pair with merriment. We watched them as snickered and whispered filling the room.

"I-Ish okeyy Mrs. Petrha. I'm phine." Oluo spoke with a lisp. I cringed after hearing that. Obviously he was faking it to get more attention that he was craving for so long.

"Are you sure, Oluo?" Mrs. Petra asked worriedly and Oluo nodded his head. She moved his head around like a toy, examining his mouth that had a tiny drop of red substance. Staggering, she got out her handkerchief and patted his tongue delicately. Everyone cheered, whistled as though they were waiting for this moment.

Observing them, my mind rewound back to 13 years ago, when I was eating a slice of bread and my teeth came in contact with my tongue similar just like this one. I yelped, losing the grip of the bread that was worth for one day. Being a child and I didn't know what to do, I cried helplessly. Mother emerged from outside and saw that I was wailing, she instinctively dashed to my direction and picked me up.
