BLAKE'S POV:

I watched as the van drove away, leaving the rest of us behind. We had to split up our members, so that the heroes wouldn't catch us all, if they did manage to even find us.

I opened the car door and Adrielle went to the drivers side. I looked out the window as she stared the car.

"I promise you, everything is gonna be okay. I'm sorry Kendron put you through all of this." Adrielle said softly.

"It's my fault for forming a bond with them. I knew what I was getting myself into." I sighed, leaning my head of the back of the seat.

"I told him to go easier on you. I could barely do anything about any of this." She turned the steering wheel to the right.

I only nodded, but I believed her. She had always tried to protect me from the harder aspects of the villain league.

We kept driving in silence until we reached our destination. It was a backup hideout, but as of now it's being used as a decoy.

I shivered as I stepped out of the car, the cold wind blasting on my skin.

I quickly walked into the bunker, opening the hatch that led to the underground.

I tried to avoid every single henchman that I saw. I didn't want any of them to talk to me. I knew that, if they would, they would ask a stupid question.

I opened the door to a room I had claimed the first time I was here.

(Italics mean flashbacks)

"I want this one!" I said, looking into a room. I'd never been this happy before.

"Let's not get ahead of ourselves." Adrielle smiled. "We only just found this place."

Once everyone had gone away she moved close to my ear. "But just between you and me, that's your room now." She whispered.

I beamed at her and she laughed a little.

We caught up with the others and I sat at a table, kicking my legs.

"You know, I think its about time we start training the little guy." Kendron suggested.

"I'm not that little. I'm twelve." I crossed my arms.

"Exactly. You need to know how to protect yourself." He replied.

"I know how to use my power well already though." I said, moving my hand and bringing a small shadow to it.

"Oh come on! You can do better than that." Maniac laughed.

I sighed and Adrielle spoke up. "Let's not be rude. He's gonna be amazing in the future. I just know it."

I smiled slightly at the memory.

"Blake! We need you!" Adrielle yelled from the hallway. I groaned and walked out, following her.

"We've got word that the heroes are on their way! So we need to plan out how we escape." She said as we walked.

"Can't I just teleport some of you guys out? The rest of the unimportant people can just run away." I said.

"No way. I know how much that hurts you." She said.

I sighed and we made it into the room with everyone else. Including Taylor and the rest of them.

I couldn't look at them anymore. The sheer guilt I felt stopped me from even moving my eyes in their direction.

"I have a question for Blake." A henchman started.

"What's the question." I rolled my eyes.

"Why are you even here?"

"Excuse me?" I laughed.

"I mean, you're only 17. And you haven't done that much for us." He continued.

I mean it's your funeral dude.

Kendron raised his eyebrows and walked towards the man. "If you have a problem with the way I run things, then you can get the fuck out." He smiled, balling his hand into a fist.

"But, if you insist on questioning me in front of everyone, well then, I might just have to force you out myself."

He moved his finger up and the man widened his eyes in fear. Adrielle giggled as he was floated out of the room, Maniac following closely behind.

I knew exactly what was going to happen.

I looked over to Taylor and the rest of them, and while everyone was waiting to the inevitable, I pointed to my ears, motioning for them to cover theirs.

They had their hands tied together, but I knew they could manage it.

I sighed and leaned my head against the wall.

Loud screams then erupted and I gritted my teeth.

I could almost feel the pain that guy was going through.

The screams hurt to listen to, but I'd grown used to it.

Once the painful screams stopped I nodded at Taylor, who then put her hands down in confusion. Lucas then followed, and the rest of them did the same.

"I wonder why so many people are defying me today." Kendron questioned himself, putting a hand to his chin.

"Probably because they haven't been here long." I answered him.

He laughed and agreed with me.

"You know what, the hostages have been good today. I say we let them ask us some questions." He then said. My breathing stopped and I looked at him.

"Go ahead. Who wants to start."

"Why us." Lucas sighed.

"Well, Blake took a liking to all of you. And you knew about the weapon, so it was pretty much our only option." Kendron replied.

"Blake, how could you." Aura looked up from the ground.

I couldn't answer. My mouth wouldn't form the words.

An apology won't cut it anymore.

"He's really sorry. I'm really sorry too. I never knew he would form this kind of bond at Etefiara Academy." Adrielle spoke for me, knowing I was trying to say something.

"I have a genuine question." Taylor glared.

"Why did you hurt Liv so much? I mean, no offense to her, but it's not like she can fight or anything."

"No offense taken." Liv assured her, giving Taylor a small laugh.

"She's good at hacking. We told her to join us but she refused over and over again." Kendron said, crossing his arms.

"You never told me that." I stopped myself from bringing a shadow to my now clenched hand.

"You never told me that either." Adrielle raised her eyebrows.
