BLAKE'S POV:
I spoke to her.
I can't believe I spoke to her. She didn't seem mad over texts. I knew she was. But the texts were also coated with worry.
I didn't even think she would answer. Hell, I thought she would have deleted my number.
I walked back into the room with Adrielle and handed her the phone. I had deleted everything from it after I texted Taylor, just in case.
I watched as Adrielle gently placed it into the fire, burning all the physical memories I had of everyone.
"You shouldn't have texted her." Adrielle sighed as she leaned onto the wall.
I widened my eyes in shock. "How did you know?"
"I can just tell you spoke with her. You're happier right now than you have been in weeks." She curved her lips into a smile.
"I'm sorry." I said, lowering my head.
"Ay. Don't be sorry. I probably would have done the same thing." She moved her hand to my chin and lifted my head up.
"And don't worry. I'm not gonna tell anyone about it. I swear on my life." She continued smiling as she let go of my face.
"The weapon's almost done. But here's the thing. We need someone with a tech power and I don't know what to do about it." She changed the subject quickly as Maniac walked into the room.
"Why don't you just get that one tech girl back." Maniac bit his apple aggressively.
"Because I'm not gonna let that happen." I looked at him and he rolled his eyes.
"Damn you and your morals." He sighed and bit the apple again.
"We could probably steal a device that has the same qualities as that girl." Adrielle suggested, putting a finger to her chin.
"That would work." Kendron chimed in.
"But we don't really need anything like that. The weapon is fine on it's own." He continued.
"How do you even know this plan is gonna work?" I asked.
"It's gonna work. And if it doesn't? Oh well. We're still gonna ruin society." He laughed.
I was excited to ruin my father's life.
It's a fun thing to think about. Wow, I sound completely psycho.
"Damn right!" Maniac cackled as he threw his finished apple at the wall. It pierced it and stuck there.
"Nice throw." Adrielle rolled her eyes.
"I always have nice throws." Maniac praised himself.
"Of course you do. That's your stupid power." Adrielle countered, laughing at her own comment.
"At least I'm more powerful than you." He scoffed.
"You wanna test that theory?" Adrielle brought her fist up, but Kendron held her back.
I laughed a little and Maniac glared at me. "What." I replied to his stare.
He stood up and grabbed a knife from his pocket. I stood still, not even scared. He drew it back and threw it.
It barely missed my face and hit the wall. I didn't flinch though, because I knew he wouldn't dare provoke me.
I softly flicked my hand up and threw a small shadow at him, causing him to stumble backwards a little.
He grumbled and grabbed another knife, this time throwing it towards my arm.
It grazed my forearm and stung a little, but it was just a small cut so I didn't care about it much. Adrielle and Kendron just decided to let us be, so they left the room.
I put a little more effort into my next move, making a larger shadow swipe him off his feet.
I smirked and started walking away before he could take another shot at me.
I closed the door to my room and flopped onto my bed.
I was happy. For the first time in a long time.
I couldn't help but feel guilty about it though. I have basically nothing I should be happy about, but I still am.
"Don't think you're safe!" Maniac slammed my door open and I sat up nonchalantly.
"Give it a rest Maniac! I need you both for something anyways." Kendron yelled, making me furrow my eyebrows in confusion.
I stood up and walked toward Maniac, earning a jab in my side. I just groaned and kept walking.
"I want this whole project to move faster. Now that the heroes know shit about us we can't afford to move slowly." Kendron said as I entered the room we were in before.
"The last piece is on it's way now. We finally have everything we need." He smirked.
"So, once we get it we're gonna launch an attack in Times Square. Blake you're gonna need to be there, because that's the moment you get to kill you're father. Or just expose him. Whichever one you're feeling in the moment." He explained the plan and I nodded.
"Adrielle, you and I are gonna stay on the side lines for this one, in case it all goes wrong. I have a get away plan, so don't worry about that."
"Oh and one last thing. Adrielle, don't use your powers unless it's needed. I don't want you tiring yourself out in case we need you to use your smoke." He finished.
"Ay what am I gonna do?" Maniac questioned.
"You need to distract the cops at the scene." Kendron said, to which Maniac smiled.
"Perfect. Can I cut them up?" He kept smiling and it got creepier by the second.
"Go crazy." Kendron assured him.
"Oh! I almost forgot. We're working with Tidal Wave at some point as well."
"Woah woah woah we are not working with that bitch." Adrielle snapped her head over to Kendron.
"Yeah I agree. She is the worst." I sighed, remembering that one of her girls stabbed Taylor.
"She can be a bit extreme, but she has a lot of people on her side, which we need right now. And she came to us out of the kindness of her heart. She doesn't even care for an apology from you Blake." Kendron shot me a glare.
I rolled my eyes in annoyance and leaned against the wall.
"We go in three days." Kendron smiled.
