Chapter 8 :: an apology

you opened your eyes to meet a white ceiling. You were lied down on a mattress.

"huh...?" you let out

flashback

Your body is falling as you lose your consciousness. As you're about to hit the ground your conscious body was caught by a muscular arm.

"good job young Kirishima" all might complimented him giving a thumbs up.

The one who knocked you out was Kirishima.

He was handling some villains with bakugou when you caught his eye once again. He was amazed by your fight until he noticed something different about you.

After seeing all might holding you back he relaxed a bit but then you broke out. After Aizawa ordered to knock you out he made his move. He couldn't figure out another way and your wounds are expanding rapidly.

But then he felt bad. He finally got the chance to introduce himself this morning after the false alarm incident but here he is, holding you after he knocked you out with his own hand.

All might taps the young man's shoulder to ease him. "get her to safety, you too young Midoriya! Take Aizawa!" he ordered firmly.

After the fight is over the paramedics took you away.

"did you see her fight? It's like she lost control" uraraka commented. She was worried as well.

Many students watched you fought the monster called "nomu" but the ones who are worried the most are Momo, Kiri, and Midoriya.

"That was close," said sementos to the other teachers.

"Indeed it was" principal nezu agreed.

"Y/N!" the door slides open as someone shout your name.

"don't be nosy! Why are there so many people here you are going to bother the patients!!" recovery girl scolded

"ah! Forgive me it was not my intention to bother you" she bowed down a few times to her.

"momo?" you tilted your head to see momo walking towards you and Midoriya is in the room as well getting treatment from recovery girl.

Behind her you see more people coming in. Turns out the whole class came to visit you and Midoriya. Not for long of course, recovery girl kicked them out because the room was getting too crowded.

As the class walked back a conversation seemed to strike between them.

" I'd never imagined we would be fighting villains this early" sero sighed

"none of us did" kaminari replied

back in the nurse's office, you were still not aware of your situation nor what has brought you into this situation in the first place.

"hey, recovery girl," you said after you managed to muster up some courage.

"yes dear?" she answered

"What happened?" you felt a little bit of hesitance in your words but you let it out anyways since you needed to ask.

"well I was only given a brief information but I was not allowed to tell you until you fully recovered child" she answered. her voice was soft but in a way, she showed her worry as well.

you bite your tongue and nodded. 'was she hiding something? what happened?' you couldn't recall a thing until the recovery girl told you once you've fully recovered. she only said, "you were getting out of hand so the teachers decided to knock you out before anything fatal happened to you". you were glad the teachers did that but what was the reason you got out of hand in the first place?

you were so merged with your thought you didn't notice you already reached the gate of UA, where someone is waiting for you.

"hey" a voice called out for you

you raised your head to see Kirishima

"Kirishima?" you walked closer to him with a curious expression

"I was waiting for you," he said with a smile

"I can see that" you chuckled

He chuckled with you but then his expression dropped slightly as he averted his eyes from your eyes to the ground. of course, you noticed and with a soft tone, you asked if he's ok and he said "Oh? yeah!"

"Alright then, want to walk home together?" you invited

"sure" he agreed and both of you starts to walk back home.

the walk was really quiet. you were looking straight ahead while his gaze is glued to the side of the road. you guys arrived at the road where you have to part ways since your houses are in different directions. you waved at him saying your goodbyes and turned to walk away when he suddenly said something

"I'm so sorry!" he blurted out pretty loudly, bowing down 90 degrees behind you.

you jolted in surprise at the sudden shout after the silence and turned half of your body around. "h-huh? for what?" you asked.

"for hitting you, that wasn't very manly of me" explained

"hitting me?" you turned your whole body around to face him and continued "I don't recall you ever hit me" you tilted your head in confusion.

"you don't remember? dang, I must've hit you hard... I'm so sorry!" he bowed once again

Kirishima felt really bad he had to do that to you or as he said it was not very 'manly' of him to do so. he wanted to apologize to you at the gate but something was holding him back. he also didn't want to make things awkward the next day so he decided to do it right then and there.

it was then you remembered the slight memory from before you blackout. a red spiky hair. 'oh that was him'

"OHHHH, it's ok Kirishima" you assured him but he shook his head

"it was not alright, I wanted us to be a friend but what kind of friend would knock their friends out" he exclaimed

you smiled at how thoughtful and sweet he was. 'he was- he- awwwwe' you awed in your head

"a kind of friend who cares for me, even though I don't remember much I believe it was better that you did or I would be paying a visit to god and never come back. so in another way, I should be thanking you" you chuckled and smiled warmly at him.

he was dumbfounded yet he couldn't smile as well chuckle at the silliness in your reply.

"I guess you're right"

"and we're training to be heroes here Kirishima, there might be times we need to knock out other classmates," you mentioned patting his shoulder.

"yeah" he smiled at your words

"right? so don't go too hard on yourself, what you did was very manly! be proud! got it?" you held your fist up cheering him up

"yes ma'am!" he smiled brightly

"that's the spirit! now you and I have some sleeping to do to catch up on the energy we spent today, take care!" you said your goodbyes once again. waving as you walk away in the opposite direction.

"you too!" he waved back smiling ever so brightly. he watches as you walk away. when you were out of his sight he averted his eye to his hand, he clenched it as the rush of excitement flow through his veins.

"Yosh! one more great day awaits tomorrow!" he gave himself one more encouragement as he walks back towards the opposite direction of yours.
