Chapter 2 :: beginning

(the dining room, the head of the table is the one in front of the big round thing on the wall)

Grandfather's name: Shang Lu
Grandmother's name: Mei Lu

Brother's name: Taohan Lu

Your grandparents and your parents are famous pro heroes, but your grandfather just recently retire and your grandmother planned to retire after the school year starts. your father is still a known pro hero in China, number 5 in the chart.

It has been a week since that happened. Yesterday was my graduation day, I enjoy it the best I can. it's probably the last day I'll see my friends. Even my childhood friends.

Right now I'm sitting at the dinner table with all my family members. Tao is beside me with xiao next to him, my father sat at the head of the table. my grandparents are beside him.

I found myself staring at the empty seat beside my father, that until grandma snapped me out of it with a question "So what's the first school you're going to dear?" she asked softly.

At this point, father has told everyone in the family about the plan, Tao whined not wanting me to leave but my grandma, being the sweet person she is, she worried about me the most.

The question startled me a bit. I quickly switch my gaze to her "oh um-" I stuttered before being cut off  "UA." the old man next to her answered briefly.

"y-yeah, UA Highschool I suppose, father said the no.1 hero in Japan is teaching there so I guess it's a good school" I continued his answer rubbing the nape of my neck.

"are you sure you'll be fine on your own?" she asked again. A worried expression is written on her face.

I was about to respond when grandfather cut me off again, dang am I not allowed to speak? Sigh

"she's not a kid Mei," he muttered

"oh for God's sake Shang she's still our granddaughter, it's natural for me to worry. and you need to start to be more caring to her too" she scolded her husband

This has happened many times before. but I'm still surprised at this sight, grandma was the only one who can tame him and make him shut up, he looks like he's pouting too at his wife's scold.

'Awe' i thought of the sight Infront of me. I wonder how did they end up together, they seemed so different but complete each other. I let out a sigh and thought to myself 'love isn't it?'

As much as I want to find out more, I got no time to worry about it. I got a goal to chase after and a family to make proud of.

Then the sound of someone clearing their throat to catch our attention is heard from the head of the table "Anyways, y/n you're going to go to Japan tomorrow so you can adjust to the new surrounding, " father suddenly mentioned.

I was taken aback at what he said, 'but the entry test is like, two more weeks from now and the new school year is a month after that' I thought to myself almost mumbling.

"It was my idea dear, there's still a lot of time before the entry test or the start of the school so there's plenty of time for you. and the longer you adjust to the new environment the less trouble will come" she explained taking a bite of her food right after.

I was about to say something when Tao suddenly whines" Nooooo! jiě jie is staying here with Tao!" he hugged my arm.

I chuckle and ruffles his hair. "You'll be fine without her Tao, " dad spoke but that just made him whines more.
