Coup d'etat

A new era had begun and I knew that I had to get ready for it. I had to start with the legitimate businesses. So I was getting ready to go to my father's manufacturing company.

I took a quick shower and fixed my hair. Then I started putting on some makeup. A bronze eyeshadow and eyeliner look with nude lipgloss.

After that I wore a cutout black leather skirt, a knitted jumper to go with it and then I put on some black boots to complete the look.

I grab my bag and get out.

"Are you going somewhere miss?"-the driver asks me.

"Yes, but I will drive myself thank you."-I say as I get inside the car.

After a long ride I was finally at the company's headquarters. I had already learned everything about the business so all I had to do is be here in person to see things upfront.

I meet some of the workers and then go to my office. The place was huge and the glass that surrounded it made all the light come inside.

I sit down on the chair and get ready to see the papers when something on the desk catches my  attention. It was a small black box. I pick it up and open it.

Inside there was a bloody organ.. a heart, but it was too small so it didn't belong to a human. And with it came a small letter as well.

"You should have left when you had the chance."

I froze... the paper fell from my hands but I couldn't move a single muscle. It was a warning, and I had to act now.

I pull myself out of that state and grab my phone.

"Hello?"-the maid answers.

"Get my mother's clothes ready, put them in a suitcase and tell her to get ready! I will be home as soon as I can."-I say and hang up the phone without giving her a chance to reply.

I grab the keys and go straight to the car. I had to get home as soon as possible and get my mother out of there.

"Hello love!"-Ryan says answering my phone call.

"Get all the man that you trust and meet me at the house in an hour."-I say as I swerve the car.

"Is everything alright?"-he asks worried.

"No, not really. Just meet me at the house and I'll tell you everything."

...

I was back into the house and I run straight to the living room. There stood my mother with two suitcases.

She sees me and gets up from the couch: "What we feared is happening."-she says looking at me.

"I think so. You cannot stay here because they will do anything to get what they want and I cannot let them hurt you."-I say to her as I rush to her suitcases.-"Get them in the car!"-I tell the driver and he picks them up.

"What is going on?"-Kai says storming inside.

"A black box with a small heart taken by a living creature was delivered in my office today."-I say, my voice shaking.

He grabs my trembling hands: "It's a warning, they'll come after us."

"Come on, we have to get my mother to the jet."-I say as we go outside.

We get to the place and I say my goodbyes to her.

"Please be careful, be strong my cherry blossom and you will get through it."-she says, tears on her eyes as she got up on the plane.

"I will."-I say and let go of her hand.

...

We were back into the house. I could barely stand in one place and I could tell Kai was nervous as well. He just did a better job than me at not showing it.

"Who could've sent that?"-I ask as I was walking around the living room.

"I checked the cameras but it was sent by mail. They knew the exact day and time that you were going to be there."-he says pinching the bridge of his nose.

"It has to be an inside job."-I say to him.

"That is my suspicion as well."-he says coming towards me.

"I know you're anxious and I don't blame you, but we will figure it out and punish everybody that has anything to do with it. Together."-he says managing to calm me down.

"I just don't know how.. what if.."
At that moment we hear a gunshot.

And then multiple others. Groans and grunts, some screams.

"Quick!"-Kai yells as we head towards the gun room.

He opens the closet where we had a grand collection of weapons. I grab a micro 9 and an AKM while Kai gets a MG4 A5, a revolver and a knife.

"Ready?"-he says as he reaches for the door handle.

"Ready."-I say and nod.

He opens the door, but there still weren't any people inside although we could hear the gunshots coming from outside.

"Come here!"-he says as he grabs my arm pulling me close to him and kisses me.
It was a fiery kiss with a lot of feelings mixed up and as our lips were in synch I could feel that none of us wanted to let go. I wanted to hold onto this kiss forever.
If only time could stop right now.

We pull away and then get out. There were bodies on the floor and I could still hear gunshots that now were louder than ever.

Our people were fighting against armed men and I had a feeling I had seen some of them before. One of them comes towards us but I manage to shoot him with my gun.

Kai was shooting people back and forth, but still didn't leave my side.

"Go, I got this covered."-I say and even though he wanted to protest my decision he left eventually.

Another man comes close to me and I shoot him dead, then another from the side tries to reach for my gun but I smack him with it across his head. He falls down and I shoot him.

I take a look around and notice that we were winning, but they were still out there. That's when I feel a sharp pain on my thigh. I got shot.

The pain was unbearable and I fell down on one knee, the other leg I kept stretched. The man that took the shot stood before me. He points his gun at my head.

"Step... Down."-I hear Kai's voice behind the man.-"Put the fucking gun down, or I blow your brains right now!" Says Kai.

The man points the gun away from me and puts it down. I kick it away. Then Kai shoots him and his body drops down revealing Kai's figure. His eyes light up when he looks at me and reaches out grabbing my hand.

"Are you okay?"-he asks as he wraps an arm around my waist.

"I'm fine it's..."

*Another gunshot*

Kai raises his head and looks at me in the eyes..
