Cold November air brushes her rosy, pale cheeks. "Traffic is slow over here." Nothing screams fresh start like a new town and blank pages of paper. "Are you sure you are going to be okay here by yourself?" Asked Mr. Tomlin. Jesse closed her fathers trunk to his old Toyota Highlander and carried her bags around to the front of the car. "Yes papa I should be fine. I need to do this there's nothing for me there." Jesse sighed after her spoken words and gazed at the townsfolk. Close embraces are made with each other and smiles are shared over fine conversation. Such a happy town could hold so many secrets and deep rooted history. Watching her father unload the remaining baggage gave Jesse a wave of regret. Maybe this isn't what I want..
Suddenly, Jesse saw whispers and chatter... "Shot?! We have to make sure he's okay!" Jesse was reaching for her father but saw people running toward the local grocery store. She turns around to look at her father with disbelief caught on her face. "Oh my god. Dad someone's been shot!"
