Josh POV
We drove away from the reception, I was so content and happy. Kevin was spending the night with his grandparents. They wanted to give us some privacy for our wedding night. I was more than happy to be with Ed, just us for the night. Even though, I was thinking about Kevin every single minute.
As I sat next to Ed in the passenger seat, my fingers were intertwined with his as usual, I looked out of the window thinking - Destiny plays just a significant role in our lives and we don't even give much credit to it.
I never knew Ed would come in my life ever again, every time I saw him on TV as Kevin screamed his name, I would peep through my kitchen to just see his face. I would smile at him. I remembered how we were together even though we were not.
I saw him play and every time he scored a goal, I would yelp and jump in joy. But act cool when Kevin looked at me. I always smiled as he smiled on screen. I always felt the joy he felt on screen.
Little did I know, I would be his husband one day and we would be married.
I smiled absentminded, as I closed my eyes. Thanking God for giving me this. I was secretly promising the Lord, I would never give this away again.
I was tired and I had drifted to sleep with a smile on my face.
-
I woke up to a soft touch on my cheek, I opened my eyes slowly and saw Ed running his fingers on my cheek. I smiled as I looked at him.
"Are we home? " I asked him with a smile.
"We are. " He said with a wide smile.
He walked out and I streched my arms as I brought myself back together, Ed opened the door for me and I walked out taking his hand.
He placed his hands on my eyes, I was surprised. What's going on?
"I have a surprise... " He whispered in my ears.
"Okay...... " I said confused.
"Just walk with me.. "
"Alright... " I said with a smile. I placed my hand on his hand covering my eyes. I was giggling as I stepped over something rocky. He held me tight, taking care of me.
We walked for sometime until we stopped and he removed his hands. I was standing still, waiting for his confirmation. I was really excited and desperate to know the surprise.
"Okay. Open now.. " He said quietly.
I opened my eyes slowly and took in the whole picture. I gasped in shock. I was breathless and I think my heart skipped a beat. I looked over Ed, with a surprised expression.
My jaw had dropped and I had no words to express as I looked ahead. I was speechless.
It was Clark Woods. The mansion, we had visited seven years back. It was renovated into a beautiful house. It was huge and it was so beautiful...
"Ed... How.. When.. Umm I... " I was lost in words. I was looking at him with wide eyes.
"It's ours. The Shaw residence. It's for you. Take it. " He swung the keys in front of me and dropped in my palm. I looked at him, processing the words he just said.
Did he just say this is our house?
"What do you mean, It's ours? " I asked him with uncertain expression.
"You heard it right, I have bought this. This belongs to us, now. This is our home. The place that connects us. It was old and rusty, I renovated just in time..But kept the touchs.." He said as he came closer and placed his hands in my waist pulling me closer and kissing me softly. I was still shaken.
