For Halloween this year, you decided it was going to be different.

For the past three years you've been with Teldyrn, and not once has he ever been up for celebrating Halloween. Every time you'd ask he'd say the same thing.

"Well I haven't had the time exactly. You know with being a mercenary up for hire."

You had worked hard the past three years on making Raven Rock a safer place for the people. You got the mines back up and running, you helped the Guards deal with the Ash Spawn, you even helped stop Mirrak from completely taking over. Councilor Morvayn  had decided to give you permanent citizenship in Raven Rock. He even gave you a home for you and Teldryn to live in.

Teldryn still acted like he was a Mercenary towards you, even though you had told him over and over that you guys were dating and he didn't need to be so protective anymore.

You currently were running around your now shared home, making sure everything visible to the front entrance was perfect. This is Raven Rock's first official trick or treat night, and you had a lot waiting for the trick or treaters.

You stood back and admired your handy work. You didn't do too much, as there wouldn't be many children. You had your bowl of sweets beside the door, ready to give to the children.

"Oh for Azuras sake!" You heard a voice say from your kitchen and a loud thud. You rushed to the noise and found your boyfriend, Teldryn, laying on your kitchen floor.

"Are you okay??" You asked and held your hand out for him to grab. He accepted and you pulled him up.

"Yeah, thanks," He paused to look around the kitchen floor, "What is all this mess for?"

"It's Halloween! I made some treats for the trick or treaters." You said and smiled.

He laughed, "Well you have fun with that. I'm gonna head outside and keep watch."

He tried to walk past you but you blocked him.

"Keep watch? For what?" You asked.

"Keep watch to see if grass grows through the ash." He said sarcastically and you rolled your eyes.

"Teldryn, I already told you, they have extra guards out tonight to protect the trick or treaters. You're supposed to help me give out treats."

"Give out treats?! I don't know how to even do that."

You rolled your eyes again, "It's not that hard. I'll teach you."

You looked at him for a moment.

"But you can't do it armed to the teeth."

He looked down at his armor, "What's wrong with what I'm wearing?"

"It's not what you're wearing, it's all the weapons you have loaded on you." You said and took his sword and bow and arrows and set them down in the hallway.

You grabbed his hand and walked him to front door. You looked at him for another moment before reaching up and taking his helmet off.

"There. Now all you have to do give out treats." You said and gave him a warm smile.

You both heard several knocks on the door.

"Y/N, I'm serious I don't know how to do this."

"Watch and learn." You said and grabbed the bowl and opened the door.

"Trick or Treat!!!" A bunch of kids said as they looked up at you and held out their sacks.

"Oh well you guys look awesome! Are you an Imperial Guard?" You asked and began putting treats in the sacks.

"Yeah! My brother was in the army and let me borrow his suit!" The little boy said. The armor was clearly too large for him, but you still smiled at him.

"Well I love it. I love all of your costumes!"

"Thank you!" They all said in union.

You waved at them as they all walked off, talking about all the sweets they've gotten so far.

You turned to face Teldryn, who had an unsure expression on his face.

"See? It's not that hard. Just be nice to them and give them each two treats!"

He didn't have time to respond as you pointed out the next group of kids coming up to the door.

"Here." You said with a smile and handed him the bowl and stepped out of his way.

"Trick or Treat!!!" They all said and held their sacks up.

"H-Hey guys!" Teldryn stuttered. You had to hold in a chuckle. You've never heard him stutter over his words. You put your hand on his shoulder to give him some confidence.

He started putting treats in sacks, "Are you guys having a good time tonight?"

"Yeah! I've gotten so many treats!" A little girl dressed in a fancy gown said with excitement.

"Hey, are you a supposed to be a member of the guard?" A little boy asked at pointed at Teldryns armor.

Teldryn chuckled, "No, but I used to be. I made this armor myself."

"Oh that's so cool!" The little boy said and the children started walking off, but the little boy stayed.

"Hey, sir? Could you maybe make me a set of armor too? Or maybe tell some stories of when you were guard? I've always wanted to be one!"

Teldryn looked back at you, his face filled with confusion. You nodded at him, smiling.

"He'd love too." You said to the little boy.

"Oh thank you! My only thing close to gear is what my siblings had, and it's really old!"

The little boy looked to see where his group was at, "Oh no! I better catch up with them, or my moms gonna be so mad!" He said and started to run off.

"Hey!" Teldryn shouted at the boy, making him stop. He reached in the bag and pulled out a treat, before tossing it to the kid. The kid thankfully caught it, and looked at him with confusion.

"You stay safe out there!"

The little boy smiled, "Yes, sir! Thank you!" He said and ran to catch up with his group.

Teldryn took a deep breath, "Well that wasn't so bad."

"I know! All you had to do was give it a try!" You stood up higher to plant a kiss on his cheek.

This was going to be a fun night.
